@@ZackAngelMusic ok I see! Makes sense kinda. I was looking at it as a supply and demand problem. The artist supply is waaaay too high so the going price is around $0.004. There too many artist with not enough demand. If that problem can be fixed, I think the labels and streaming sites would have to pay more. But as long as there are 10,000 songs dropping a day, there may not ever be a rise in prices for artists. If had a streaming company I’d probably pay the same. Not even to be malicious, it’s just that if one artist says they won’t take the deal, I can throw a rock in the bushes and find 1,000 more that will. Or am I trippin?

@@TheOutCrowdTV the mathematics is quite obvious: the payments/royalties or so micronious its ridiculous. With digital payouts 1/100th what physical product is valued its like an armless person trying to climb a flag pole glazed with Crisco Grease. Digital Downloads are better because a million sold @ 1 dollar = A million bucks but streaming companies have impeded the process there by forcing artist to struggle to get a billion streams only to be paid a few thousand. hell nah.

@@thomasmatthews8873 Then don’t put music on the streaming site. Sell your own music downloads. There are 2 participants in this transaction. Artist and Platform. The platform says “here is the deal, you get $0.0004 per stream. Do you want to work together?“ the artist says, “yes”. Then the artist proceeds to complain that they are getting $0.0004 a stream. Doesn’t make sense to me.

Unfortunately this kind of thing happens in every business, restaurant, movie, music, etc. The only real answer is to build a complete new infrastructure. Meaning, team up with independent people and make your own radio stations, streaming, festivals, etc. It’s the only way around it, even then, they’ll try to wipe you out. But that’s the only way. These businesses have built too many relationships with each other and they are interdependent on each other’s success. So you can’t counter it within. Gotta build a whole new version. Can’t sell the streaming service to a bigger company , etc. build it all, own it all and get actual longevity where you’ll be able to promote your song forever. You’d be able to choose the longevity of your songs. As opposed to be forced to put out music the way Spotify wants or other services. People will follow eventually . But you can’t do these sub labels of big labels and work with labels or companies with labels that have ownership in that company. You gotta cut the connections fully to truly not get screwed from every angle. Iv always said this, whoever gets the most radio play will usually do better, so you gotta build a platform to push songs to the top that aren’t the same handful of big labels. Gotta do it seperate to have a fair shot. I don’t think it’s as simple as being label less and still putting stuff on Spotify etc. gotta team up with other creators and make labels, distributors , etc , get a musician who can write legitimate good songs and sell their songs to movie studios for less, stream for less, less commercials etc. build a better infrastructure all together . Charge people less, therefore get more exponential all growth, if you can get good musicians on your side .

I remember that time Jay-Z was trying to sign Lil Wayne & Jay-Z said he was going to give him a $175,000 advance, an Lil Wayne thought he was under cutting him, but I think Jay-Z was looking out for him. At that time anybody would've done a beat for Lil Wayne, for cheap. He would've sold 2 million copies easily at the time. I don't know how many points Lil Wayne was offered on each album, let's say 17 points, at $10 a cd x 2 mill= 20mill x 0.17= $3,400,000. So he makes $3.4mill & only owes back that $175,000. Great deal. Yeah I know, I didn't include the videos & studio time cost, but nowadays a small advance seems like the best way to go

thank god for the first generation of Hip Hop artists (1978-1985), and second generation (1986-1993) that sampled old school music then cause the ripple effect that came afterwards exposed those crooks LOL, that's why they hate Hip Hop/sampling Old School records 🎵
