Back then I could never complete the final mission, and I later found out you were supposed to go and acquire a tommygun from a completely unmarked shop the game tells you nothing about. If you're going to play this game, keep this in mind.

I still remember it. I just couldnt beat it and then i thought "Hey, can i visit the gunshop from the bank heist mission?" So o replayed that mission, to see, where it is and holy shit, it worked. So i was able to equip myself and finish the final mission. It was both rewarding... and kinda stupid.

I really like the slow-paced and the realistic element this games has, sure all people see is a tedious slow boring game and go for the remake (which is a more holloywood action paced version) but it's really a unique game! the gunplay, the law system, the car handling, the radio, the punchy gun sounds and all the little detail, it's things like this that even the reamke doesn't feel the same.

Am French. The French dubbed version and French voice acting cast was absolutely amazing. This alone fleshed out the story and cranked the realism and the immersion by 1000%. They hired all the official French voice actors dubbing all famous Hollywood actors like De Niro, Al Pacino and it was fantastic. I was taken aback on the first minute of your video when I heard the original English dub for the first time . It sounds awful.
@dmer-zy3rb4 ай бұрын
the german dub was also very good they got the german voice from Joe Pesci to voice Paulie (who was inspired from Pesci in the first place) for Tommy they got the voice of Tom Cruise and for Salieri a voice actor that voiced Don Corleone a few years later in a new surround sound godfather movie dub.

As someone new to the Mafia series, this game was pretty good. The story was great, the main cast was memorable, and the gameplay definitely had its moments. I only played this and the remake and between the two of them, I prefer the original.

Great review, I loved this game as a kid. I first played it on my PS2 when I was probably 9 or so and fell in love with the series. I preordered every release since. The characters are really what got me hooked, at that time, I had never seen nor played a game with such a developing story besides some RPGs, which definitely weren't full open world shooters like this game.

It could be said this is the morrowind of the open crime genre. It doesn't hold your hand and tell you what to do at least in a deeper level. Mafia series, the Godfather, GTA, the getaway open world crime genre is indeed a very specific in nature. Great vide, I played the remake, loved it. Great story. I gotta try the OG version one day, its the only one I dont own.

One of the best games I have ever played, and I always prefered it to GTA. I loved the slow pace back in 2002, and more than 20 years later this for sure has not changed. The soundtrack, the story, the graphics and the atmospere were amazing. The new release can not touch the old one.

@Gamingpastime642 жыл бұрын
Yes. There are far worse games than those.
@unchartedrocks12 жыл бұрын
Kane & Lynch is 1 of those games that had so much great potential but lacks good gameplay. I love the nihilism & anti hero with no actual redeemable qualities but wish it had much more refined gameplay &i wish the cinematography was more of this ominous symmetric framework like a David Fincher film, Stanley Kubrick with disorientating moments like Gaspar Noe. The story's dark nature should have taken some notes on Cormac McCarthy, Flannery O'Connor, Dostoevsky, Albert Camus, Søren Kierkegaard, & a few others to craft a more philosophical nihilistic & existential story with characters who can't & won't changed but deep down could have been good people but no struggle in them ever bother to reach the side cuz the world is hell. As for Youngblood.....it's crap. Huge disappointment compare to Wolfenstein 2 that made me feel like a Nazi killing, robot destroying badass.
