Great analysis overall, but there’s a smaller detail before the restaurant shootout that got overlooked by Don Salieri’s rage afterwards. When the Don expresses pride that Tommy was able to kick his drinking habit thanks to Sarah’s support, he casually reveals that he was the one who pressured her into convincing Tommy to stop. The revelation that Salieri has been micromanaging his subordinates leaves Tommy visibly haunted as you can see him wondering what other aspects of his life Ennio has been influencing for his own benefit.

Good catch! That is a great detail, and it's a cool piece of foreshadowing and character reveal. It was actually in the script at some point, (if we're remembering correctly), but it might've been cut for time and, as you said, because the Don's rage overshadows that mission very effectively. Good call overall, thanks for reminding us of that!

I thought the same thing as well. Also, I have a sneaky feeling Salieri must be the one who killed Peppone and not Morello. I hope the next Mafia game addresses this part of the story.

I didn't like Paulie in the original game. But I loved his character in this one. This game was one of my favourites from last year.

Agreed on all counts. Even the parts of our team that haven't played either DE or the old Mafia are on Team Paulie now, much as it would annoy Don Dipetta (Sam's mocap and voice actor) to hear it, haha.

It took me awhile to warm up to the story and characters but I’m starting to like the characters and story more The gunplay is just the cake on the icing. I wish driving felt more like gta instead of The Godfather games tho. The driving physics are broken in those game

why doesn't videos like this show up in my recommended page? I've been recommended generic and typical reviews but I had to search deep in the ground for something like this, the algorithm is not detailed enough to recommend based on quality rather than views and hype of a consistent channel.

When I first played the game, I thought that Paulie would turn out to be the one betraying him for more power, and Sam would've wanted to get out. Since we had the scene with Paulie how he shot the kids in the car so ruthless and Sam that wanted to help a prostitute. I liked the story, really worth playing.

Tommy is nothing like the one in the orginal game. Like, doesnt care if he has to kill the wh0r3 and wants revenge towards morello, and instead of saying the best quote on the game he just says that stupid line: family is important. Also, is funny how tommy in the remake doesnt kill sam right away meanwhule in the original game tommy emptys the whole mag on sam

Daniel Vavra, the original director and writer for the original said that Tommy is supposed to become slowly a psychopate as the game progresses

Imo Tommy's arc is pretty weak, we have no backstory on Tommy's story like his upbringing, his family, how'd he came to America, what drives him to be in the family? Money? These questions are what make Tommy's character a bit weak in terms of arc. Even Mafia 3 had fleshed out Lincoln's character and Mafia 2s beautiful story.
