About "Fair play" on Classic difficulty: well, there is an another way of doing the race. You can drive back to a narrow spot of the track and make a huge car wreck on the road. This way the enemies will be immobilized and you will just drive all alone to the first place. It's a bit tricky, but it was much easier for me than the actual race. "You set stupid rules, I break the stupid rules". It's "fair play" in my eyes ;)

The worst thing is that race is so disconnected from the rest of the game: you don't need these skills anywhere else. All the chases are much easier. It worked for me and some others. When you’re doing the race, get to 4th place in the first lap and stay there. The three drivers ahead of you will crash in scripted events so you’ll finish in first. Turn on the speed limiter before you make turns and when you’re turning, mash the X button so Tommy’s car rams on the turn and you won’t go spinning out of control. Did the race twice on Classic doing this.

Staying in the 4th place isn't necessary, quite the opposite. Just maintain the lead you already have, it's easy to get to the 2nd or even 1st place if you cut through the grass, sand, etc. The rest I heartedly agree with

I remember doing the Mafia achievements. I got most the first playthrough, I spent 2-3 hours on the driving on classic till I eventually gave up because I realised I messed up and let myself get the loss multiple times accidentally and switched to a different difficulty. Then I proceeded to collect all collectibles, do all missions and do everything else. After I had all but the Classic achievement, I decided enough is enough and did it again. I got up to the driving race where I actually managed to beat it 1st try.. For the next 4-5 hours I just spent my time grinding the rest of the story until I finally had all of the achievements. I do personally agree that the collectibles were a bit of a nightmare going everywhere back and forth, and with the gun and driving systems.. They were mad.

I love earning a trophy or achievement that actually feels like I earned it like finishing that race. There’s always someone saying “it’s not that hard just get gud” but there’s a reason sooooo many people struggle with it. A lot has to do with luck of the AI and they trick you into thinking you’ve gotta get into first place immediately. The tension builds until you realize you really only have to get in fourth place technically. There are four scripted crashes/breakdowns. It’s still challenging knowing all that but it does take some pressure off especially in lap 3 when you’re always in 2nd and it seems like you’ll never catch first so you push the speed too much and crash never realizing that all you have to do is stay in 2nd cuz the guy in 1st crashes on the final turn.

HOLY FUCK! As a proud czech, it's an honor you have czeched out this game (Gedit?). Mafia 1 was the first game I ever played, I finished it multiple times, I still remember some cheatcodes. The remaster was fucking good (They brought in the original voice actors, except for Salieri, who unfortunately died), one of very few games on steam I have that I have 100%ted. Also the main man behind Mafia 1 is Dan Vávra, who later founded Warhorse Studios and developed Kingdom Come:Deliverance, also a banger of a game.

In one of the missions you have to quickly get to your mentors house before he gets killed. However the glitch for some reason makes the house Unavailable to go inside making it unbeatable unless you do one thing which rarely works

In the prison escape mission, just by the prison exit you can go to the right and escape through sewers. This way you avoid the annoying chase and you can get the 'escape from 5 star chase' trophy later, in free play on a lower difficulty :)) Helped me a lot to get the platinum

I think the next platinum you are gonna do is COD MW 3(2011) because you had given hints at the ending of the video. If you are gonna do mw3 (2011) platinum make sure you do all the spec ops in 3 star in veteran difficult including the DLC and getting the max rank of spec ops.

(long comment warning) Exactly someone actually made a video where they played the original mafia on the hardest difficulty and was actually confused as to why people were struggling as much as they said they were. Fun fact the driving for the original mafia was actually tested using steering wheel and pedals so it makes sense why it feels weird with a controller. And before someone replies saying *oh well not everyone is a racing sim expert* there is people that mainly play stuff like need for speed and gta that are 100x better at driving sim stuff than 70% to possibly even 90% of some players nowadays and it’s genuinely irritating that over the past few years it’s only gotten worse with people acting like because the game doesn’t play itself it’s too hard for them to play. Like seriously people either need to learn to stop pressing accelerate 24/7 and refusing to brake or they need to simply stop playing games that they are not good at. For example I like mortal kombat but I’m not good at it so I pretty much don’t play it it’s that simple.

But, people who drive a car irl should be able to learn to play sim racing easily and this include an arcade one as well, as they already have the knowledge of how to properly drive a real car. That race stumped my Platinum attempt. Couldn't beat it at all. Finally read somewhere online that lowering the difficulty but then changing the difficulty back to hardest right after would work. So I did that, won the race, played the rest of the game on the hardest difficulty and then found out the hard way that once you lower your difficulty, even if you change it back to max, it doesn't count. Now, if this game had chapter select, since I beat every other level on the hardest, then replaying the race is all I'd have to do. Except it doesn't have chapter select, so I'd have to replay the whole game. and thus I gave up on Mafia 1 plat
