Hey Ojhe, thanks for your wonderful video!! Many people from Japan are curious about what you were talking about so I decided to translate some parts of it. I hope you dont mind.

Usually most songs that talk about depression are like "I'm depressed and sad." But when it comes to Japanese music, it gives off the vibe of someone crying for help and asking if it's okay for them to live.

One good thing about some japanese songs is, they might be talking about depressing stuffs, but at the end, they will end it with something like "just live" , or like in another mafumafu's song, There's No Reason For Me To Be Born (Umareta Imi Nado Nakatta), it ends with "I have to live on". Its as if these songs are trying to reach out and save others

Mafumafu said that in the past, he was bullied because of his voice (his voice sound like a girl) and another reasons he didn’t tell. There was a time someone go into his room and dragged him out of his house at midnight while he was wearing a pyjama. He said that he was thought about suicide but one day his friend: soraru changed his life. He began to create songs and try to sing, he almost said that at first everyone yelled at him, blame him because he sang wrong music note or there was a day he only ate almost out of date food or leftover at the convenience store. He even being stalked a lot that he had to move his house around 4 times. But, time was passed, he began to have friends and Nico Nico Douga company cooperated with him and now he’s become a very famous “utaite” with a million Japanese fans and on the world. From that he gave up thinking about suicide but the pain was still there.....in his heart and will be never gone. Sorry because I’m not very good at English much. I also was thought about suicide too but when I heard his music...I gave up and try to live on. With me, he like an angel, so pure yet so kind...from mafumafu with love

I'm pretty sure when he was bullied for his voice was when he was in school. So Soraru didn't help him at that time (they didn't know each other yet) Mafu was being stalked so many times back in his early years of being an utaite. Someone would follow him around and made him uncomfortable. They even sneaked into his house and stay in his closet to stalk him. Then, they'd come out at night and watch him. And there was this one time when the stalker pulled him by his legs when he was asleep and dragged him until to the street. :( This was the depressing time of Mafu as an utaite. I heard ppl said he even cut but I'm not sure if this is true. His friends did know what happened to him and always accompanied him at his home and listened to his story. They didn't take much action tho maybe bc Mafu didn't want to and they're respecting his decision. (Sadly,Mafu was like that back in the day. He could never bring himself to report somebody. It either he's scared or he's being pitiful.he's an angel afterall lol) Then, at this time Soraru came to help him. He didn't tell this in detail but Soraru 'did' sth to the stalker until the stalker came to Mafumafu and apologised. He also said he'll never come near him ever again. Mafu said Soraru is the light he's searching for (cute haha) Also, his song was stolen (twice)by one of their friend. I think a lot of people in this fandom already know who's the 'friend' I'm talking about. This person stole from a ton of different composers. Soraru and Mafumafu was trying to stop this guy but couldn't. However on 2015, this person finally told the fans that he never has original works done by him (basically turned himself in) and retired from being Vocaloid producer. Mafu was upset (ofc he was) when this so called friend of his stole his songs :( there're some songs that Mafu wrote that talk about this person (Berserk, GHOST etc) After all this mess, SoraMafu finally made a band together called After The Rain on 2015. After heavy rain there'll be rainbow. Just like what happened to them (well to Mafu especially) after getting into so much troubles he finally found his happiness. Well this depressing story ended with a happy ending :)

My first reaction of this song is, for the first part I was really depressed, I remember all the depressing stuff and just agreeing with the lyric, I thought it was going to be just like the other "suicide/depression" song, like me hating the world. But then the second part of the song, I realize, this song isn't about that at all, it's about how the world is hating me, because I just gave up with the world and underestimate it. I suddenly cries there, when the "Live" part show up, I'm destroyed. "No matter what happen, as long as you live, then everything is going to be okay." Is what the song say to me. Well that's just my interpretation of the song.

Kanzaki Iori's (the producer of the song) most notable work really hits home. And with Mafu-kun's cover, it plunges right through you, not just the lyrics, but also the emotion that he put on his voice for this song. I am really glad that there are more people reacting to Utaite, like Mafumafu, because most songs that they cover are really beautiful. Tbh, most vocaloid producers are talented on making really good music, like wowaka (rip :(() Giga-P, nekobolo, 40m-P, samfree (again, rip) and many more With that said, I really like on how you reacted this. And also the fact that after you finished listening to it the first time, you went back after the second chorus part. I always listen to this cover whenever I feel down, because not only it hits you, but also telling us that we were born to live, and let life do its part ((I also cry every tiem I hear this)) You got yourself a new subscriber mah dude. I don't really listen to k-pop, but I will watch your reactions on utaite and j-pop (I rarely listen to j-pop but eh wwww)

At first I saw this song not knowing the true meaning behind the lyrics bc I listened to a different cover of "hated by life itself" and at the time it didn't have English lyrics, but I knew by the aura, it definitely meant something deep. So now that I see this and actually read the lyrics, I found out that it had such a sad yet meaningful and inspirational story to it.
i had the opportunity to see this song performed live last fall (a different artist though, he performed it as a cover) and it hit me in a really similar way to how you react to it here. the artist i saw performed it acoustically, just him and piano. it really made me cry. but that's one of the things i love about this song, is how different artists can take it and sing it in different ways that capture different emotions and the individual way of dealing with these feelings. thank you for your video ! mafumafu is one of my favorite singers so it makes me really happy to see people appreciating his work. hope you are doing well
