Zoltrak was a "human-killing" piercing spell that human mages reverse-engineered into a demon-killing spell, later perfected by Frieren and taught to Fern. Current ordinary offensive magic Zoltrak can still kill human mages who are unskilled in defense.

I can tell you that Serie is the real deal. (No Spoiler) This magic association has been around for more than 50 years. So many first class certification has been held. And people willing to risk their life to participate. The previlege is just that tempting. So there is no way it's a lie. From eps 18, currently there are 45 first class mages. All the test proctors (them in blue cloak) like the two, man (Genau) and woman (Sense) chatting on the top hill are also first class mages. You can see they have no trouble with stille willingly perching around them, even on Sense's head. Telling, atleast their mana control is just that good.

If Frieren has to go up against Fern, I can see either one saying to each other, “go ahead, I’ll drop out, you can move on.” Also, it’s not limited to just one First Class mage who can pass. In addition, they never said there would be one on one mage battles. The rules depend on whoever is proctoring that particular test.

It’s a story that seriously tackles themes of time, memory, regret, and connection and does so well. It’s generally a very mature story and does not rely on style rather to hold viewers’ attention. Is it the deepest piece of media out there? Probably not. But it definitely is a well done anime that is thoughtful when most others barely have coherent ideas behind them other than spectacle.

Actually, those who can't appreciate and comprehend what makes this anime so great are the childish ones :) Nothing wrong with being childish in the right context, but you need to be emotionally intelligent/mature and good attention span in order to truly love this show.

We wish! Right now we can only handle 1 series being double episodes due to time constraints, and after Frieren, we’ll be starting Demon Slayer which is double episodes too 😕 we do post Haikyuu at least twice a week tho so it’ll still be 2 episodes, just not together. Sorry!

Telling you in case you miss this later. Serie is a battle mage, she is centered on war, she can not imagine a world with no demon king and because that, she could not kill him. Serie is stupidly more powerful than Frieren. "Magic is a world of imagination, wich cannot be visualized, cannot be"
