Unpopular opinion: this show is disappointing thus far and we’re only two episodes in. The judges are not very articulate about the dishes being presented: for instance, level of difficulty and technique, how all the flavours melded etc. Chef Rishi’s first and second dishes were underwhelming compared to his competitors. The judges did not even mention tasting the white wine that was included in his entrée, and how is pastry cream and panko breadcrumbs a dessert? He didn’t even transform the blackberries! They were just added almost like an afterthought along with the flower. That said, the judges are not giving us much in terms of describing the dishes, the chef made coconut waffles but they didn’t mention whether the coconut taste was prevalent or not. This show needs work, especially when it is reminiscent of food shows like Chopped and others of its ilk.

The judges explanation for the dishes aren't indepth enough, some of the dishes that were on the losing end had loads more work put into them.

I agree it’s anticlimactic but that’s because of the editing. It feels like this is just a recap of two episodes. I however disagree with your opinion of the winner. Chef Rishi presented more technical dishes and they looked more elegant than his competitors. Idk about you but I definitely would have chosen his based on presentation alone. I think the judges saw the berries as a cohesive part of the dishes and didn’t taste like an afterthought. Either that, or everything else made up for it, and was better than the other Chef’s dish.

They should watch masterchef: the professionals for inspiration.

This show has potential but too many ads and not enough cooking and showing techniques.
