Hi Maggie! Well regardless of how someone feekls about Brian Johnson's voice, only few can sing like him as most of us will lose our strained voice in a just one part of the song... also this rasp/distorted voice hides the fact from many listeners that Brian is singing actually very high notes.

Nice windmill..Bon himself was abig fan of Brian's vocals before he passed. Bon told the band if anything ever happened to him to have Brian replace him...FYI: True story..There was a group of soldiers, one guy would blast this song throughout his barracks..They were in a battle behind enemy lines and this soldier was badly enjured and had to be left behind so they could get him help...When they came back for him, They blasted this song from the Helicopter to let him know they were there to get him.

What's always been great about AC/DC is that they will always sound like AC/DC. Some may say that's a bad thing. I am not one of those people. I absolutely love that they stay true to their style and that you were never disappointed by an album! By now they have 18 albums that all sound exactly the same and they're still great! Give me the name of another band that has been this consistent with their sound and general vibe! You can always count on AC/DC to be unmistakably AC/DC every time.

@karlsmith25703 ай бұрын
12:17 In reference to Angus' outfit, Maggie. This is his trademark school uniform outfit. Angus would go straight to rehearsals after getting out of school and without stopping at their house to change clothes. So Angus and Malcolm's sister made the suggestion for Angus to wear school uniform as part of the act and even made some of his early school uniforms on her sewing machine, which also tied into the origins of the band's name, as they were wanting band name that exuded power. But, they didn't realize that AC/DC was also a slang term for bisexuality
@paulwalsh23443 ай бұрын
Cool ! I wrote almost the same thing above ! But that trusty sewing machine of their sister’s… was also where they got the name of the band !… from the specs label… I did not hear that Angus word the school uniform because he came straight from school to rehearsals, but I’d definitely believe it because he was really young when they started playing seriously… before Angus was 17…

Before his death, Bon Scott reportedly mentioned Brian Johnson as a strong vocalist and potential replacement if needed-almost prophetic given the circumstances. Brian Johnson, known for his powerful range and falsetto control, was fronting the band Geordie at the time. When AC/DC was looking for a new lead singer after Scott's passing, Johnson was suggested based on Scott's earlier comments. Johnson first learned of AC/DC through his younger brother, who was a fan, and was contacted for an audition after the band decided to explore Scott's recommendation.

During the hells bells tour they had a giant church bell on stage with their logo on it and actually rang it for this song , it was loud and amazing in downtown Detroit! I had the pleasure of seeing many of their concerts through the decades and they never failed to leave you exhausted and fulfilled
@DavidDylanFisher3 ай бұрын
There's a story behind that! They wanted the sound of a churchbell for the song, so what they did at first was send a sound guy to record one in an actual belfry. Unfortunately, they couldn't get a clean recording, because every time the bell was rung, you'd hear a bunch of startled pigeons flying away. By the time the bell had stopped resonating, the pigeons would be back. That's why they decided to dig up, like, the last bellfounder in England and get their very own church bell, cast in bronze, for the song - which they then brought on tour.

This was the first song on the "Back In Black" album; the first album with Brian Johnson, right after Bon Scott's death. The tolling bells in the beginning of this song was a tribute for Bon. The entire album is a tribute to him.

0:30 "Ok, Loving The Church Bell, So Far" Interesting fact for you, Maggie. About the Church bells in the opening of the song, they'd found this Church and tried to record the sounds of it tolling, but every time they'd ring it, a bunch of pigeons that had decided to roost in the Bell tower would start fluttering around and it got picked up on the recording and they ultimately had to go to the Bell Foundry where that bell was cast, and had the Foundry casting a replica for them. So the tolling of the bell you hear at the beginning is the test tolling of a feeshly casted bell which AC/DC takes on tour with them

Brian had to write the lyrics on the studio, based only on the song titles that the band already had before Bon died, and at one point he completely ran out of ideas and started thinking that he didn't have what it takes to fill Bon's shoes. Plus, they had a deadline to finish the album, He was sitting down outside the studio to get away from the pressure, trying to find inspiration to write the rest of the lyrics when "Mutt" Lange approached him and asked what was going on. Brian was explaining the situation to him when they heard thunder in the distance, so "Mutt" Lange said "there's a storm coming, why don't you write about it?". And so Brian did. 🙂
