AC/DC is up there in the category of the greatest and most consistent bands of all time. Highly energetic, and you can’t help but make you want more. Sadly, Malcolm Young (rhythm guitarist, backing vocalist and the brains behind the band) had to retire in 2014 due to dementia and eventually succumbed and passed away from the disease in 2016. Their latest album was dedicated to Malcolm as a tribute. Brian has such a distinctive singing voice that can’t be replicated. In fact AC/DC is a band that is incredibly easy to imitate but impossible to replicate. They’re also very friendly, down to earth bunch of blokes.

A great use of this song was in the movie "Deadpool 2" as they were jumping out of a helicopter. Never thought of it sounding like Elmo, but you're right. LOL I think it's the sound of the music mix for the video makes it sound so much like it does. I've never been a big AC/DC fan, but my first ex-wife would play "Back in Black" every morning while putting her make-up and getting ready for work.

Oooook .. but listening to this song as an adult reveals a whole different meaning to this song that has nothing to do with the weather 😳

One of the greatest pure rock and roll bands in the history of the genre. I think their popularity and legacy is due to the combination of multiple factors, including consistent great basic rock songwriting with multiple catchy, instantly recognizable guitar riffs, solid musicianship of every member (especially Angus, with his multiple memorable solos) and obviously, the distinctive, powerful vocals of both Brian Johnson and Bon Scott (RIP). I saw them live at Madison Square Garden in the 90's and it was so cool when they opened up with Back In Black, 10K+ heads instantly starting bobbing to the beat after the first couple chords.

"This is Epic" is probably still a bit of an understatement for this song. All time Classic for Sure.

You should watch the live version from the River Plate 2009. I just can´t get enough of the shots of the crowd at that gig. It´s f-ing amazing!

Your reaction made me smile but also ball my eyes out. A) because ACDC are so awesome, and B) because Thunderstruck is a song close to my heart. My late brother Craig who was a great singer once did a perfect rendition of this song on Australian TV about 20 years ago. He could do a perfect Brian Johnson, you had to see it to believe it :)

Angus playing his intro one-handed like he's doing musical scales is great stagecraft with a huge badassery quotient.

Both Highway to Hell and Back in Black are perfect albums. There's not a bad or filler song on either album. What's incredible is that not only are they back to back, they have two different lead singers.

The original singer, the late, great Bon Scott, and the current singer, Brian Johnson,have, IMHO, practically identical voices. To this day, I still can’t them apart.
@fresh723 Жыл бұрын
Fake news, Bon scott wasn't even the orginal singer :) and brian and bon doesn't have identical voices
@tomaskennedy Жыл бұрын
@@fresh723 Fair enough, I didn’t know he wasn’t the original singer, my bad. But I just said that in my opinion, they sound practically identical. Like I said, I still can’t them apart, they both have that same raspiness to them. Just an opinion.
@kyles5513 Жыл бұрын
I think their voices are pretty unique, and although have similar style I can easily tell them apart.
@niccinicnic9335 Жыл бұрын
Common! Dont compare Bon's with Brian's voice. Scott was way better.
@fresh723 Жыл бұрын
@@niccinicnic9335 I don't think bon was way better, they are different singers, and if you hear brian singing in the band he was before ac/dc well it was a different type of singer, pure voice really good.

Proud to say I have seen this band 14 times in concert from the days of Bon (R.I.P) until now, when you see them you get your money's worth, Angus is the best that ever was/is/or will be, that plays a guitar and quite the showman...
