An excellent collaboration. May I just say though, you still haven't heard the full extent of Yuko's vocal skills, her vocal agility and range have often left me speechless.

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 This was filmed at Osaka-Jo (Castle) Hall with capa. of 16,000. This venue is known for its good acoustics for this kind of huge multi-purpose arena. It is very important to appreciate the beauty of Amy Lee's voice, and Yuko's as well.

As you can see and hear, Machiye is also an excellent vocalist with a background as a frontman and vocalist in the j-pop band M:a.ture. He takes on the role of vocalist when Yuko has a break. He and Yuko have a fantastic version of the song Doppo at this concert. He also makes a phenomenal performance of "Episode 0" from daishinnenkai 2017. Select video from "CC W" YT channel. All have English subtitles.

I love this version almost as much as the original. The original will forever be my favorite because it was my introduction to Amy Lee. But I gotta say, with all the reaction videos I have seen, no one has mentioned something that stood out to me. Amy Lee wearing a kimono with biker boots. Just epic fashion in my opinion. Just odd no one else seems to notice the boots.
@Blackmjc Жыл бұрын
She usually has boots during lives but the kimono was gifted to her from the band. I feel thing version is a bit sloppy sounding compared to the original, personally and don't enjoy the other singer much. Amy is amazing as usual.

🤩This was an epiphany, even more emotional power than the original arrangement! Wow! And of course, watching you going completely nuts over it was double fun! I imagined you jumping up and down in the first row, hands high up and screaming at the top of your lungs... 🤘😄

Hi, thanks for sharing your reaction. This band is impressive and the collaboration with Amy Lee is certainly unique and make this classic Evanescence song even more amazing with the Japanese instruments. Recently the drummer of this band, Wasabi, made a cover of BabyMetal called _"Megitsune",_ is another song with Japanese elements but blended uniquely with metal sound and so much fun, you got the official MV or live at Budokan 2014, so i highly recommend that song and after that you can check the cover. Btw I saw you throwing some kicks in your intro short, if you like martial arts you probably gonna like another BabyMetal song called _"Karate"_ you got official MV but this group really shines at live performance so live at Download Festival 2016 will be the perfect choice, specially for the lead vocalist improvisation, you can find a little longer version with a short interview at the beginning so you'll know more about them. Thanks again and sorry for the long comment. 🙏❤️

There is a song called "DOPPO" that left an impression on me at the live concert on the same day. The literal translation of "DOPPO" means "walking alone". I think the word "walking" here means "walking in life." This song is sung by vocalist YUKO and guitarist MACHIYA in a duet. YUKO played a grand piano and MACHIYA played an acoustic guitar. Yes, YUKO is also a pianist and MACHIYA is also an excellent vocalist. If you want to listen to a duet for two, the live version of "Synchronicity" is recommended. This song is a light song with the seasoning of old jazz. (I like the music video version, but I think it's likely to be blocked by KZbin.) --------------------------------------- From Japan * This is a sentence using Google Translate. I hope the intention is conveyed correctly. (This post ... I was overtaken by Dr. Acura again ...) hahaha....

Oh thank God. I couldn't wait for this after you reacted to senbonzakura. If you're curious about Yuko's more... modern singing I guess, she covered Mulan's Reflection. Solo, and she was on the piano. Synchronicity would be a good one too. Won't spoil why but it's not what'd you expect.

I was thinking what you just said now, I wish I were in the audience. But this is a song where the original will always be my favorite. I've listened to artists covering songs, but changing them completely, and I sometimes love them more than the original. For this one there is only the comparison, and this was a close second to her original. But the arrangement, background vocals, and everything else - yeah I wish I was there. I still loved it.

If you are interested in more WGB, Homora, Akatsuki no ito is good intro. Synchronicity is jazz, Queen of the Night is ballad, Ignite is rap, Tokyo singing anthem, Sukara rising with Amy Lee, Kyoukasigetsu Yuko Accapella then intrusmental and more band together, Tengaku, Ikusa, Strong Fate, Hakushu Kassai, Yoshiwara Lament, Aria of life anime theme, Sun Wheel. Live is best, but videos are great too. All worth seeing and listening.

What I am also impressed with is how at this concert the orchestra doesn't overpower Wagakki Band. How much of that is the orchestra and how much is the sound mixing, I cannot say. Probably a bit of each.

A really nice rendition with lots of power up top. For me personally, not so good. Not a fault of the performers. I happen to be functionally tone-deaf and only really get what I can feel in the deeper notes. (This is not a total description of the condition I have)

Hah, Machiya (guitarist and male singer) don't using any harsh vocals normally, so it must have been difficult for him. :D If you want to hear great harsh vocal, but also amazing clean vocal, I recommend another japanese band The Gazette and their song "Blinding Hope" official live. ;) And about phenomenal covers, I recommend another japanese band Liv Moon and their version of Deep Purple song "Child in Time", their vocalist is amazing soprano.
@mmasque20522 жыл бұрын
Machiya has a great growl, which he has used in a few different Wagakki Band songs; it’s just that most of their songs aren’t in a ‘heavy enough’ style to require it. He also has a very good ‘regular’ singing voice.
@tamashii66702 жыл бұрын
@@mmasque2052 But it's not that kind of harsh vocal like for example Kagami from Dexcore has. ;) And it's not even exactly growl...

I can keep a beat on a rum kit but dont ask me to do anything more like hit a high hat. My parents thought every kid should play some instrument. They stated me with trumpet a Nine at 10 it was drums. By 7th grade they knew they had done right by having me take voice lessons from 1st grade b/c I could sing. It just amazes me how some ppl can play any thing they pick up or if they paly only one how well they can play it. The ppl play in band here are something else. They just may replace The Dead as the band i listen to most of time.
