Kinda interesting, you can hear the Germanic roots of some English words when you notice the current German pronunciation isn't that different. Middle English in particular is great at demonstrating this link, with words like "night" still being pronounced in the German way.

Im late but....w/e Could be because the saxons lived on the british island for a while. And even after they lost the War they had their part on the english language we know today. Thats why some English and German words are close or even the same ("Poltergeist" for example)

Walpurgisnacht is German and translates to Walpurga's Night. It is a cultural festival held in Central Europe, Germany included, on or near the first of May. It is their May Day festival and its filled with bonfires and dancing. Walpurga was the name of a female saint who was canonized on the first of May in the 9th century. I'm half German and was excited to discover the amount of German present in this anime.

Daumantas Sarapovas Yeah, apparently, though I've never read Faust myself. There was a witch named Walpurgisnacht in the manga as well. It was where Madoka died in every iteration- in the first one, she tried fighting it alone, and in subsequent iterations it grew stronger as her wish gained more and more potential.
