Great list but the stand out is the “Particle System “.What a book!!!!!!Brilliant package!!!!!Mem deck magic that is a joy and fresh and interesting!!!!!Joshua Jay has surpassed himself and deserves some sort of award.Blown away!!!!The video/ book combination is a very clever touch as reading a static description in a book sometimes stumps us until you see a video and suddenly you get that “ oh I get it now” moment.Whole heartedly recommended.Great work Jeff.Thanks.

@@EruditeMagic - Off the top of my head, I'd say the first one. I love the "9 Card Problem" and the Bermuda Triangle. My guess is that I might have a slightly different answer if I went through all of them again.

thanks for the video :) the recommendations were great! I wanted to ask, for the magic in mind book, I noticed you have a printed physical copy. Would it be possible to purchase a printed copy from Vanishing inc.? :) Thanks in advance

Belated Hi from Nebraska again...Thanks for all the work you do putting this wonderful channel together. I have brought more books from your recommendations than from anyone else. Plus steering me to Don Magic Book store. Great place to shop and he take great care in wrapping his books. Much better than Penguin Magic and even Vanishing Inc. Again, thanks here from Nebraska

I own most that were on your list and what an outstanding list! Just purchased "The Particle System" after watching your review and I'm really stoked. Another couple of really good books are "The Books of Wonder" by Tommy Wonder. Thanks!

Hi. Is the particle system about how to perform or cards? Jay mostly do card tricks right?
@jameswebb83387 күн бұрын
@@joaquingalan4804 It is card tricks utilizing a stack but there are some card tricks that doesn't need a stack. It is all about card magic.

Good list but I'm missing some of the heavy sleight-of-hand books. The Complete Works of Derek Dingle, The Complete Walton, By Forces Unseen, Jack Carpenter's books, ...

Syzygy is fantastic. I have the original mailers. Check out the midway effect. I did this in six shows. I learned quickly to put the people throwing the darts in the second or third row. The first time I did this people on either side ducked. What a great effect.

I will check it out. Agreed that Syzygy is fantastic 👍

Great list. As they say, there’s a lifetime of magic there. It pains me to see “Mr Jennings Takes It Easy” continuously not mentioned. I guess this is what happens when a book is decades late and the subject no longer relevant. Richard Kaufman has never mailed it in and this is one of his best. I never see it mentioned or referenced. I long ago specialized in lifetime works and magazine compilations. Glad to see you leaning in that direction.
@EruditeMagic7 күн бұрын
I love those lifetime compilations! Great shout-out

I sold a bunch of books and regret getting rid of Strong Magic. Has a lot of application outside of magic when considering style and presentation for a number of professions. And David Kaye’s deserves a mention for Seriously Silly which is not only one of the best magic books K still own but a wonderful discussion of presentation and audience control, regardless of whether you do children’s magic.

Been there, done that. I've sold books I wish I had kept 😕
