Jeff, it has been a pleasure watching your videos over the last two years. Seeing each new video become better and better editing wise, it is really neat to see the finished product. We all know it takes a considerable amount of time to put these together, so THANK YOU! Your knowledge and advise is much appreciated.

I was just watching Vanishing Inc’s letter a short time ago. CONGRATULATIONS!!! This is such an awesome development. One of the things that makes shopping at VI so nice is the feeling of security that comes from knowing you’re dealing with good folks, and now there’s one more good person in the mix. Again, congratulations and looking forward to future developments.

I was able to pick up the second edition of this when Lewis republished it in an edition of 300 in 2004. However, I think H&R also republished it at a later date.

Thanks for admitting that you don't know every book published in the year - I've seen too many people declare the best book of the year without the asterisk that no one knows every book. You've provided a very informative overview of the best from your perspective. Thanks

13:51 I love this episode. The winners were my favorites of this year. My absolute favorite was Ben Harris’s book. Otherwise, your two winners are my favorites too. Thank you for all these amazing shows each week! Here is to another amazing year and I hope your new job is amazing as it sounds!

I always think that the best books of any year are probably books I haven't bought or seen. Which is why I'm always broke. The last Bob Farmer was my favourite purchase of last year though. The one I wish I owned and don't is the Malini. Great overview of magic publishing in the last year though.

As always, a fun video to watch and listen to. I have no disagreements about any of your choices, and in fact, love all those books. In looking through the books I've purchased this year, a few come to mind that I don't think you've reviewed: 52 by Scott Robinson (a collection of his magic that he published in the spring. This would be both an independent publication and over $100), Ionia: Magician Priestess by Charles Green (just under $100), Card Startlers by Paul Gordon (also just under $100), FFFF: Forkful of Appetizers compiled by William P. Miesel (reprinted by Meir Yedid from the original 2 volumes published in 1982 and 1983), Spellbinders for Teachers and Entertainers by Jim Scott (on the Nine Card Problem in one of Jim Steinmeyer's Impuzzibilities books, Very inexpensive and available from Amazon, I believe), The Mentalism Factory: DIY Gimmicks for the Mentatlly Obsessed by Scott Creasey. (fairly costly at $100+), Scryer's Seers and Scryer's Eidolon by Richard Webster (Both of these are exclusive to Steven's magic and quite expensive for their size at 0ver $140 for each. But Neal Scryer is one of the best working mentalists currently working), Tales from the Invisible Door: Entertaining Storytelling Mentalism for the Working Performer by Vito Gattullo, The Illusionist Brain: The Neuroscience of magic by Jordi Cami and Luis M. Martinez (very inexpensive), Gagnon's Inner Sanctum by Tom Gagnon, A Magical Journey to the Moon by Ferran Riza, La Campanella: Etudes and Sonatas with Playing Cards by Shimpei Katsuragawa, The Rich Cabinet Collection by Edwin A. Dawes (very expensive as one had to purchase the entire 9-volume collection at once. It was limited to 250 copies. Published by Magicana, the first 2 volumes were published in August, the next 2 will be in January, 2 more next summer and the remaining volumes in 2024. This consists of Dawes's collected long running column in The Magic Circular), Quirky Forces: 50 Unusual and Offbeat Forcing Methods for Magicians by Chris Wardle, Taylor-Made Magic: The Life of Merv Taylor by Leo Behnke, Mentalism Presentations by Aakan Makhdoom, Camirand Academy's Master of Magic Series by Gary Ouellet (a collection that republishes the Camirand Academy Masters of Magic Series that was originally published as separate manuscripts by the Camirand Academy. Originally published from 1979-1986. Republished by Meir Yedid.) These, of course, are not all I've purchased, but they do represent the majority of the books that were published in 2022 that I bought. More than anything else, I though I'd list these as several of these may not be well-known and perhaps deserve a second, or even a first look. I've tried to include a variety of books so that there might be something for everyone. And again, I have no issues with your list and winners, Jeff. Just adding more grist to the mill for consideration.
