Magic Chef Furrion microwave door not opening.

In this video I show what the inside of the magic chef microwave door mechanism looks like and operates. I take it apart to see what’s causing the intermittent problem, after filming and thinking more about what the problem could have been I was thinking the two springs under the push button might have been restricting the movement of the push button. The Furrion Microwave has the same issue with the door sticking. I will keep an eye on it and let you know if the problem returns.

We just bought a new-to-us 2021 Rockwood Roo with this same model of microwave which had the exact same problem. After following this video, we are guessing that the black trim kit slipped and was pushing on the door, preventing it from raising enough to open. The mere act of taking it apart and reassembling it fixed our problem. Thanks for the excellent video!

Hello Tony and Tina Thank you for making this video. The door to the Magic Chef microwave in our 2022 Rockwood 2205S would not open unless you were able to pry it open. I followed your instructions and removed the microwave from the trailer and took off the cover and then to see up close how the latch mechanism worked, I pressed the latch button and the door open perfectly. It appears the cover some how was binding the door, preventing the door from opening. I took a small screwdriver and lifted the cover that created a small gap between the cover and the door frame. Door works great!
