no uv no baking what does that mean? Can we do texture painting?

You definitely can mix with vertex paint maps. But this is procedural shading and not UV-image-based workflow were you manually paint 2D images.

Some workflows lead to material redundancy because they are forked just for adjusting mapping scale and proportions. One of the benefits of this tool is to avoid density inconsistencies so user don’t have to duplicate materials for this reason anymore.
