Just a tip, if you ever do get a sewing area set up, those Frixion pens are great for marking fabric. You make your mark on the fabric with the pen and then use an iron to "erase" the mark. The heat from the iron does the same thing that the eraser on the end of the pen does. They are fantastic!

5:47 The friction erasables have a major flaw, heat alters the color and it becomes invisible. Cold changes the molecular structure back to visible. So should you loose a note due to hot coffee on the text, you can recover it in the freezer. But if you forgot there was a reminder you might miss an important event.. :) And what if you leave you journal on the dashboard on a hot Summer day in the car and all entries vanish. You put it in the freezer and parts become unreadable because you erased it and wrote on top of it several times.

+Silke Schümann Heat altering the colour isn't a flaw. That's the whole mechanic of how they work. Friction produces heat, and the heat erases the ink. I'm sure my planner is safe in my dark basement room. I'll risk the spilled coffee.

LOL I know the flaw is by design. And when I look on my life, on how and where I use pens and where my papers end up, I consider these pens a funny gadget but not really useful. Just imagine you pick this pen up sign a contract and send it off and by the time it reaches your business partner the signature has vanished. Do you want to tell him to put the contract in the freezer.

For me, a warning on the package is not really an argument, because it only prevents that the company can be held liable. It wouldn't prevent me from having the pen in my pouch or cup with other pens. Since they're for writing daily tasks like shopping lists, journals and notes, they tend to be all over the place and knowing me I prefer to have my pens document safe, so I don't have to pay attention, when ever I grab a pen, whether or whether not it is a frixion and could get me into trouble with business partners.

Try a tiny bit of nail polish remover on a cue tip for chips like that on your nail, be careful not to press too hard though as it many just smudge the rest of the nail!

The pens also remove with heat and come back if you stick something in the freezer!! It's pretty amazing for a fashion designer who always needs to draw on fabric but doesn't want to be stuck with pencils lines all over a garment! One swipe of the iron and it's all gone!

I love these erasable pen. I have been using it for many years and it comes in so many colors and sizes! If you get more I would make sure they they have a white/ clear or colored eraser. If it's gray it won't work very well. Also be careful when writing on backs of paper with the pen because some times the pressure of your writing can erase the other side. Hope that helps. If you stick the paper in the freezer (or if it gets too cold) the "erased" ink reappears. You can also erase the ink with anything that gets it hot enough (e.g. iron that piece of paper, heater, hot car, etc.). Also they come in slim versions. 0.38mm point.

Omg Baylee you are so funny and cute when you get excited bout this kind of stuff. The pilot Frixion pens are pronounced the same as friction and that's how the pen erases. The heat from the rubber "erases" the ink. So if you use a hair dryer on a high-ish heat setting the ink will disappear and if you leave it in the freezer overnight, the ink you "erased" be visible again. Frixion pens work with heat in general, I've seen people using them for sketching and erasing the lines with hairdryers. However the ink starts showing when the temperature drops, so I would recommend not using them all that much in things you carry with you, especially in colder climates or cold weather.

be careful with those pens. If you leave them near ANY kind of heat the pen will stop working and all your work will be gone. I left a pack of those pens in my car along with a note book if notes i took with them, the pack was dead and all my notes were gone form the heat build up in the car. Then left one near a warm radiator and killed another pen.

Before you write a ton with the erasable pen, you should test the longevity of the ink. I found that the ink wears off, sort of. Especially if you write on the reverse of the page or touch the written part. I don't think it would be a problem if you don't need the notes to last a long time with 100% legibility, but if you're expecting it to last a month or two without any fading and writing on the reverse, definitely test it.

You can use a hairdryer with that erasable pen instead of the "eraser" on the end. Also I believe if you use the cold setting on a hairdryer (or just put the piece of paper in the fridge/freezer I guess) the ink will magically reappear :P

The pen erases because of the heat of the friction. You can also use your hair dryer or something like that to erase the pen. But because of that the pen is not very durable when it comes to long exposure to sunlight.
