Dude, I'm a nerd when it comes to Magic and Bird. I had no idea this happened. I knew about them playing together in 78 but had no idea that they were teammates again before the Dream Team. Great knowledge and thanks for sharing.

Yeah, me neither. Magic's charity got rolled into Magic's charity company which went on to do bigger and better things I guess, to the best of my knowledge, I believe the game is still going on under a new name. Thanks for the comment .

NBA hall of famers playing together *before* they were pros is also interesting. Back in 1984 a college team led by Michael Jordan, Patrick Ewing and Chris Mullin beat an NBA team led by Larry Bird and Isiah Thomas in a warmup game for the Olympics. Makes me wonder how many rings Jordan would have ended up with had Ewing and Mullin been his supporting cast in the mid 1980s.
