KGTv Hi! I just ordered iPad Pro 11” and Folio touch few days ago and folio touch has already arrived here. I am still waiting for iPad Pro is arriving in 1 month😭

I decided to go with the Logitech Folio Touch because $300 for the magic keyboard case it just too expensive for me. I value functionality over aesthetics. With the folio touch I love the function keys, the fact I can fold the keyboard all the way back, the woven denim texture, and the protection that it offers me. Much better suited for my needs than the magic keyboard case.

Thanks so much for the comment! I kinda felt the same way. I really liked the magic keyboard, but I think for what you’re getting compared to the touch folio, it just wasn’t worth double the money. If I ever found a really good deal on one, I might pick it up down the road. But I think for right now, the Touch Folio is the right choice for me :). I’m glad you’re enjoying it as well.

Superb video, thank you, I like the way you try to balance the pros and cons of both. Personally, I don’t like the material of the MK, it stains too easily. Also, I don’t like the idea of having the iPad naked once removed for portrait mode work for example. On the whole, I personally prefer the extra protection of the Logi as I tend to move around a lot with the iPad. I actually bumped the corner against harder material and it shows some marks, which is annoying to me. The material of the Logi seems extremely durable. The keyboard is top marks and the touchpad is perfect for me. For me the MK is only superior if left on a desk. Although your video is long, I do not think the extra time was superfluous, rather the contrary.

The only thing i hAte about folio touch is you cant use it lying down facing the ceiling! You need to be on your stomach all the time when on bed :( overall i love it ,but still debating if i should keep it! I also have experience connection problems but its not persistent...

There are some people who are, what I refer to as, “Apple People.” This is not a negative connotation. They want and like everything Apple, and don’t mind paying the price. The Magic Keyboard is very slick, stylish, and minimal, very Steve Jobs-esque. It’s so simple to take the iPad off from the case and when folded down, the iPad and case are very thin. I’ve been told by people I know who own a Magic Keyboard that the feel of the keys is awesome. I don’t doubt it. The Logitech Folio Touch is very thick, very heavy, but protective and almost half the price of the Magic Keyboard. I had an iPad Mini, which I dropped (on the concrete). Needless to say, the screen cracked. Thankfully I had Apple Care. I like and want a keyboard case that is going to give my expensive device protection. I also really like the security that the Folio Touch provides for my expensive Apple Pencil. On the Folio Touch, I like the keyboard, multiple brightness for keys, the function row keys, particularly the screen brightness buttons, which I use from day to night. I really like the versatility that the Folio Touch provides. I really like the multiple angles when in typing mode, and the multiple modes, particularly the viewing mode, whereby you can flip the keyboard under the iPad so the keyboard is out of the way when you don’t need it. I like the angle of the drawing mode, being that the kickstand has the capability to open at a wide angle. I really like the smart connector. All previous keyboards I’ve owned had to be charged. With the Folio Touch, that’s one less thing to have to think about. There are a few negatives. In typing mode the keyboard and kickstand takes up a lot of surface area, so if you’re working on a limited-sized area, you are limited on the angle. In viewing mode, I do not like the keys on the surface of the desk/table. It is a little awkward (wobbling) to type when the case is on your lap.

I’ve had the Magic Keyboard for 3 months and it is worth the extra money for sure! I really like Logitech products, but the experience just doesn’t compare. I’ve experienced multiple issues with the Logitech Touch Folio such as issues with keyboard backlighting and an unresponsive trackpad. It’s a product with promise that will maybe get better with more software updates, but not something I’m willing to wait for. A lot of people complain about the lack of function keys on the Magic Keyboard, but the only time I found myself using them on the Logitech was to check to see how they work. The keyboard not being removable like the Logitech Combo Touch is also a deal breaker for me, the case is way too thick with the keyboard folded behind. They saying you get what you pay for definitely applies with these cases.

Thanks so much for the comment! Yeah, it has definitely been a tough decision. I can see where people could like both of the cases for different reasons. I really enjoyed the design aesthetics of both keyboards. I really enjoyed taking the ipad off and on the magic keyboard case with such ease. Do you find yourself using the extra USB-C port for charging while using the ipad?

The Logi keyboard has already received a software update through an App you automatically install when you first install the keyboard. I haven’t found any lag at all, either from the keyboard or the trackpad. A for, the thickness, I personally found it acceptable, especially when you consider the real extra protection when on the move. A for the function key, I keep using them a lot, especially for volume up or down, brightness of backlit keys on or off.

I agree the Apple one seems to be made to stay on a desk to replace a laptop. Just knowing how you use yours, I think the mobility and extra protection the Logitech better suit you. IMO
