We were at Disney the 6-10. When we rode HM, we all thought it was really dark and hard to see. We ask a CM and she said that the stretching room provides your eyes time to adjust to dark. When you just walked on your eyes didn’t have that time and the ride was darker. Always can learn at Disney.😁

To me, one of the most important parts of the Haunted Mansion is the cast member who opens the doors. When they just say, "Hello come on in," there's no thrill to enter. However, when the cast member says something like "Master Gracey has been expecting you," it gets you ready for the attraction. Great video!

It can be a mixed bag. I would accept the experience in this video as the door was opened well in time to see the aging portrait from the start, so it's a pass from me. What I don't like is them opening it after it has begun to age (this happens more often than not in my experience). I had a nice greeting once, but was displeased to here the spiel begin before I even stepped in (I was first in too). I get there can be hold ups on busy days, but I cannot accept a late door opening when the park is dead near closing time - no excuse for not admitting as soon as everything as reset...

My favorite memory is when I went to Disney with my dad. I was 10 the first time and we went on the People Mover. I was terrified of Space Mountain. When we started going into the part with Space Mountain I started freaking out. LOL!! He had to reassure me that we were't going into the actual ride. LOL!!
