Thanks. All others who were talking bout RAW video, pathetically failed to demonstrate 'how to' in a step by by step fashion. Well-featured.

Thanks for this very helpful video. What's the difference between mlv_rec.mo and raw_rec.mo? I've been using raw_rec.mo without knowing the difference. Also, maybe you can make a video on the best settings for using one of these raw-recording options for a 600D (T3i), which is the camera I use. The most I can record using raw_rec.mo is 6 seconds. Last questions for today =). Do you know how to get the light meter to work while in live view? I'm having trouble determining whether my shot is properly exposed.
@DaveHowTo10 жыл бұрын
There is no difference in the quality. The mlv_rec.mo allows you to record sound as well (you have to install the mlv_snd module too). I will do another few vids on this subject including the editing. Yes the raw is really pushing the 600D. You wont be able to record in 720p on it. Try a lower resolution

I just got a lexar blue series card that reads 90mbps and write is about 45mbps. Magic lantern won't let me record even at 720p. It stops after 3 seconds. Is it my card that's not fast enough? My camera is a Canon t4i

Hello Dave! Thanks a lot for your vids! One question please, for my 600D. and limits of their processor, wich kind of sd card is sopported to record in raw? 45mb/sec... ? Thank you for your help. Regards friend!
@DaveHowTo10 жыл бұрын
Hi, the max write speed of the 600D SD card controller is 21MB/s. So any card faster than that will be fine

thanks for the videos man, after i record i have bad quality raw footage with red and green dots, how to fix that?
@DaveHowTo11 жыл бұрын
Hi. You need to use the Pink dot remover tool (pdr) you can find it on the Magic Lantern site. I will do a full video on that and editing the raw footage early next week.
@merowsProductions11 жыл бұрын
what about the green dots? please make that video for the .MLV file and the .RAW

Thank you Dave! I have one very important question, I have a canon t3i/600D and my sd card is a sandisk extreme plus 80mb/s 32 gb. When I shoot in raw and play it back on my camera, is it suppose to be slow? When I shoot anything in raw it is slow on playback and if it's not to much trouble could you do a best settings video for canons t3i raw video
@DaveHowTo10 жыл бұрын
yes playback on the camera is slow - its not your card - its just a helluva lot of data to be processed! However it will play back at normal speed once rendered on your pc/laptop editing software

hi dave, i have been shooting mlv raw with my canon 550D. i am not satisfied with the resolution it can shoot.550D can shoot only 1152 X 432 continous. so im buying 650D tomorow. do you recommend buying this camera for shooting mlv raw? thanks
@DaveHowTo10 жыл бұрын
Hi Andy. The 650D can shoot standard RAW at 720p continuous but only for a minute-2mins in mlv_raw.I guess its cos of the extra overhead of the sound it records in mlv-raw. I guess that might be improved as the magic lantern developers continue their work,
