Have you ever thought that there has to be a magic move for more distance with not only driver but all clubs? After all, you see kids and petite players hitting it by you so they must be doing something you're not. Well, I'm here to say there is a magic move and all pros and all better players are doing it.
I have been teaching since 1991, and I can honestly say, out of everyone I have taught 80-90% of all students do not do this one move when I first watched them hit golf balls. So this is a pretty big problem for average players.
Now are you going to get instant distance? Some people will but this move takes coordination. To become coordinated with something means repeating it. The tip clearly shows how to do it so it is up to you to do daily practice swings until you are good at it. If so, you will literally hit the ball longer than ever.
I would be practicing it daily with driver but you can be doing it with all clubs because once you get this magic move it will help you hit all clubs longer. The longer you hit the ball the easier it's going to be. So take this seriously. This is a vital move that you must have in your swing.

Paul - after a few days os watching a ton of your Body Swing videos, KZbin videos, and reading The Body Swing, and taking practice swings at home, I went to the range today. Wow!!! I know you must have heard this thousands of times before, but I can't believe how long and straight I hit it today and it felt like nothing! (I kept thinking belt buckle to the back and stretch and belt buckle to the target and stretch) I was standing there in amazement in awe of my shots going 30+ yards longer than usual. I carried a 6 iron 200 yards! Now of course not every swing was perfect - every so often the reflex to use my arms would kick in and I would hit a thin shot. I tried to go down to 50% on my next shot and that seemed to work. I know with more and more practice the reflex to use my arms will dissipate more and more. Just need to work on that and tempo (really need to kill that desire to want to whack it that won't fully go away). I'm so happy, and can't wait to play this weekend. The Body Swing is money well spent! Please let me know if I can leave an official review somewhere.

Wow, that's great. Super exciting. Now you know you can do it. Yes, it will take work. The problem (especially when playing) is people start feeling invincible so they start swinging harder and harder. That is why I did this tip: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZ2un5mMl82ojtE Stay focused and do the daily practice swings making the positions precise. Do that and you will look like a pro as you swing. Get to that point and you will hit it like a pro.

Coincidentally I just finally figured out this hips-ahead idea a few days ago. Now this video pops up explaining EXACTLY this concept. Completely changes the ball striking. All those things like bowed wrists, lag, and shaft lean ALL fall into place for that much-desired downward strike on the ball. Trying to get those without the hips rotated at impact is a frustrating, impossible, fool's errand. Incredible how well you explain it, and how so many coaches leave us flailing.

Glad you liked it. Needs to be simple so people get it. Most are making this stuff way too complicated and they are working on moves they are not physically capable of doing. The power is from the legs and hips. Need to not hit the ball with the arms though. Loose wrists.

For anyone who is skeptical on Paul’s methods or don’t think they can switch, I can attest as a player who used a baseball grip and swing as hard as I could for years, but still only hit 220 yard drives, that the body swing method works. I have only started doing the methods I see on KZbin for the past 4 weeks and it has drastically changed my impact. Yes, you may find that your score may suffer as you adjust, but I’m hitting the ball with more consistency and confidence than ever. I went from a player who was only hitting one fairway in 9 holes at an average of 220 yards to now hitting around 265 and 5 fairways out of 7. Plus, I feel like I’m only swinging at 80% compared to my old swing. Even my par 3 scores have dropped. Im more excited about golf than I have ever been, and I feel like I’m better equipped to play a round. Paul, you are awesome and wish I found your methods a decade ago. I’m going to look into your teaching series on your website and see if you have keys on the short game like hitting chip shots, flops and putting. Keep up the great teaching!!!

@@markuswessel-ellermann I felt the same way when I shanked most of my wedges the first time I switched. I bought Paul’s online series and the lesson he provides on there is really good. One of the pieces I missed in the beginning was that you had to turn off the arms completely. I really struggled with that and didn’t understand why. One of the lessons Paul gives you is to video yourself and see where your impact position is. He says that if you don’t see your butt cheek in the video, you are using your arms. No joke, after I videoed myself, I saw no rotation and my right leg never rotated. Once you learn to remove the arms, the rotation and touching the knees become the first move and your arms follow through. This has been my practice all winter, which was touching the knees drill. Hopefully it translates to cleaner shots this year, but again, I can’t stress enough on how my swing feels so much cleaner and I shot a 94 on a Disney course over the winter season. Doesn’t seem awesome, but last year, I lost a whole box of balls by hole 9. Nothing like the walk of shame to the pro shop to go buy 45 dollars worth of balls at the turn to shoot a 122. There is always hope my friend! I shaved almost 30 shots off with just the body swing, grip change and knowledge of impact. Also, a clean swing will never replace bad putts and chips! That’s next on my list to hopefully break 90 this year.

@@terrypol1158 My second day practicing...I changed my emphasis on circling with my right hip (I'm a right hand guy) to focus on my left hip and turn, which makes it more easy...I might loose some yards because I have my weight 80/20 on the left but I can cope with that as long as it works getting loose arms...it's now very cold in Germany but will soon try it on the course...

Well, you just had to find the right ones to watch. So glad you found me and are improving. That's what it's all about. Keep this stuff super simple. It is but we want to make it complicated. The biggest thing is we all want to hit hard. Unfortunately, the odd time you get lucky so you think this is what you need to keep doing. It was luck. So super loose wrists and use the body. Those thoughts alone should get you there. Then yes, daily practice swings. Once you get that settled in then if you need to tweak something then do so. Keep up the good work.

Hi Paul, last spring I was a very new golfer and I bought your training kit as my first introduction to golf instruction. Everything you said made sense but I couldn't put the loose arms into practice. I put a simulator in my garage with the intention of getting better, got a few lessons, yet all winter I kept hitting at the ball with tension in my hands, wrists and forearms. Somedays I would play well and somedays I couldn't hit the ball. One thing that remained constant was that I kept trying to remember a feel that worked for me the day prior only to have it not work the next day. It would take me 4 or 5 swings to "warm up" just to make decent contact. Anyways, through trial and error, and the privilege of being able to hit a golf ball at my home whenever I wanted, I started to feel glimpses of the effortless, and extremely powerful body swing. I just couldn't capture and repeat that feel, but I knew the proper golf swing was there somewhere. I am not sure if I am doing it correctly but what really helps me repeat this swing feel is to feel that the backswing is part of the swing. I spent months and months trying to raise my arms into a proper backswing position, and once I stopped raising and started swinging the club back with my body , almost a controlled throw, a true back "swing" was I able to get that loose arms feel, with the subsequent powerful and accurate strike. Just wanted to drop you a note to say thanks, I know this is a source of income for you but you are truly helping people find that correct golf swing. I never forgot your lessons.

Thanks for the feedback. This game can be tricky when you start learning it then one day you get that lightbulb moment and it takes it to a whole new level. This is what just happened. Sounds like you were probably trying to raise them too much or thinking about raising them so much you didn't switch to body in the downswing. Whatever it was I think they are going into a better position on their own. I would obviously keep doing it. Keep repeating and let it settle in now. A lot of the time people start working on other things or swinging too hard before they have even mastered what they were working on. Keep at it then tweak it into the future if it needs it. Good job.

Paul. I’m 56 golfed since I was 18 and never broke 100. I’ve watched prob almost all your videos. You are the only teacher that seems to understand the whole swing and not just one aspect. Like bow your wrist. Drop in the slot. I’ve never hit the ball more solid than after following your lessons. No more fat, thin or whiffs. Now working on separation to get hips turned first to bring my hooks or pulls back to center. I can already tell I will break 100 this summer.

Mr Wilson, almost a year ago, I broke my wrist in five places.... Before the injury I was down to an 11.1 index... The injury required surgery, a metal plate and five screws to put the wrist back together. After a three month layoff, I was cleared to play. I was hitting the ball terribly and I was back to shooting in the high 90s and sometimes over 100. I never thought I could get back to my old index. By random luck, after a few months of frustration, I stumbled upon your KZbin videos and I committed myself to slow down, turn off my arms, and hit the ball with the momentum of my body rotation. What an incredible difference. After four months of committing myself to your process, I am back to an 11 index, and I am hitting the ball longer than before my wrist was surgically repaired!!! I plan to take an in-person lesson with you in Las Vegas in a couple of months. Thank you!

This is the greatest drill, swinging in the air without a ball. One mistake I made (and I would assume many others) when first learning this new move is to jump in and do it too fast and hence out of control. Reminds me of when I'm learning a new or difficult guitar riff. You don't start playing it at full speed, you play it slowly enough to play all the notes correctly and then build up speed. So for me one of the keys to getting this was to start doing the move perfectly and in balance to get the feel even if it meant swinging at what some would consider a ridiculously slow speed and then gradually increase the tempo. The other key, at least for me, came when I had the move sufficiently down enough to introduce a ball. I had to initially tell myself to not get too concerned with how far the ball went or even where it went. Hard to do as we all want that instant gratification making it easy to fall into old habits, but with time the shots improve and the results come. I'd recommend this drill to everyone wanting to improve not only their distance but accuracy as well!

Paul, this move has changed my gold game tremendously!!! For years I have sliced the ball. Tried grip changes, ball position, swing flatter on down swing, etc. By simply keeping my hip rotating through the swing and letting my body pull my arms through the shot got rid of my slice for good. My arms are able to roll over more at impact. This advise is a game changer. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Watch: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p2a1oJ2KrZqmfqs I just got him to roll it early so the club was releasing then added body like I show in this tip. Boom dead straight. See the swing differently. You have spin (wrists) and direction (body). Watch your ball and it will tell you what is and isn't working. Good job. Golf will be a lot more fun for you now.

The same comment as for other videos, fantastic. Roughly speaking the same instruction with a variety of different, but consistent tips. To repeat for the umpteenth time, my practice swing with driver is perfect automatically, but I am still battling the chicken swing when addressing/hitting the ball. Most recently yesterday, the chicken swing still was there, but relatively minor, thus much better ball stroking. I still do not know the distance, but best guess is 220 to 240 yards, straight, good height, good bouncing. That with some chicken wing, so dissipating a lot of power that should be transferred to the ball. It has been month or so that I have been working with the driver. Chicken wing terrible at first, but gradually lessening, but still there. Hope springs eternal each day that I practice that I suddenly will achieve a practice swing when hitting the ball. Why cannot do that now mystifies me. As I have noted before, 2 seconds after the practice swing, I hit the ball. Practice swing automatically correct, hitting ball 2 seconds later, some form of chicken swing. I will arrive there!

This is the problem. I am handing to everyone on a silver platter yet few hear me. Glad you did and it's paying off. Daily practice. This is what it takes. You have seen the results so get addicted to doing the swings. I do minimum 100 per day. I will actually count how many I do. I have also been going to the range to work on a few things myself. I was told by a teaching pro a long time ago that I casted the club. I never knew what that meant. As I've gotten older, I've lost distance and always thought the distance problem was due to minimal lag. Your tip makes a lot of sense and I'm going to work on your drill. Thanks for your great videos.
@paulwilsongolf

Most golfers cast it. This is due to hitting with the arms. You are moving the mass (club) before the axis (body). Need to flip that around. Move the body first and the club follows lagging behind the body. Glad you found this drill. This is the key for sure. Need to do it daily though until you are good at it.

7:50 - 100% spot on. Absolutely MUST video your own swing. On my best days, the hips are 15 or 20 degrees past the ball when impact happens, BUT most of the time they are staring straight at the ball. The repetition makes a huge difference.

I think I finally broke the code on having a better golf shot....straighter and longer. WATCH AND LISTEN TO PAUL WILSON! I love your tips! They are really working for me. I don't need a new expensive set of clubs or a $4 golf ball. The first time I teed off with my group on Tuesdays using your tips for longer drives.....their jaws dropped, so did mine. The first tee is dreaded by most of us but that drive was around 280 yds right down the middle with a baby draw. My usual drive before was 250. I kept my arms loose....flattened my swing plane a little and swung more out...hinged my wrists....turned my hips and pow! I thought Man this stuff works! I was getting very discouraged with my usual occasional slice drive but those days are over. Golf is fun again ! Thanks Paul for your great tips. Love your approach to it and humor.....keep it up!

This WORKS!! Plain and simple! Covid sidelined me for 6 weeks. So, I watched almost ALL of Paul's videos. Some more than once. I played yesterday for the first time in 6 weeks. I had to adjust, because instead of hooking, the ball went dead straight! I made par on my first hole! Granted, it took adjusting, and I made some tempo mistakes. But I know when I go back tomorrow, I just need to FEEL it the same way, and keep practicing. It's actually a MUCH slower swing with the upper body. I shot a 43 for 9 holes yesterday, and I really haven't played much over the last few years. But I've been playing almost 35 years, and I KNOW my game will continue to improve now!! Thanks Paul. Paul, since this video came out I have been doing dozens of reps of this drill everyday, I'm sure I have done at least 500 by now. The muscle memory is now there and I'm not sure I can swing without this move happening. I was struggling with bad or no weight shift, swinging over the top, even regular shanking and this has helped immensely. In music we say you need to practice not until you can play it right, but until you are not capable of playing it wrong. Your videos and help are very much appreciated.

Glad you are with me. Over the winter just do daily practice swings trying to make the positions perfect. You know what I teach. If pros do them you need to do them. So a few moves and you look like a pro as you swing. Pros have the right fundamentals so you will have them too. Winter is perfect cause there is no ball to hit so watch me do the positions then try to do them exactly as I am. The follow through is the most important position so don't ignore it. Wonderful video! This is the only thing I work on when I'm on the range. Unfortunately for me, I have over 60 years of swinging with the arms so it is always a struggle to change. Generally I find that at the start of a range session I can kind of do it properly. But the more balls I hit, the tighter I grip the club and the harder I swing. It's a real battle but it sure is fun when I do it right! Thanks for all your work.

Glad you liked it. Thanks. You need to stay focused on this one thing and gradually it will start happening. It is a quick movement to get the slow body ahead of the fast arms. If you are increasing over the amount of balls you hit then do 3 practice swings before each ball. Hit a small bucket. There is no sense losing the feeling. If you keep going back to it you keep refreshing the wrong feeling.

Hi Paul - thanks for another fantastic tip! I have been doing 100 body swings per day in my yard - I am finally getting the coordination you spoke of - in fact, I am so excited because during this morning's practice swings, I actually finally started taking divots with my 7 iron. I have literally never taken a divot in my life. It's amazing how excited I got seeing a small piece of my yard fly in the air! I truly believe what made the difference for me this morning was really working on what this tip is about - thinking of my trigger at the top of the backswing which for me is "touch legs." I slowed down my swing to about 50% and that is when the magic kicked in. I will keep focusing on this and really look forward to my practice session tomorrow morning. Thanks for the great tips, Paul!

The feeling I have is that the Right Elbow tags along with the Right Hip on the downswing. It’s almost as if the arms just get a free ride when it follows the right hip.
@paulwilsongolf
@paulwilsongolf 10 ай бұрын
Well, the right arm would tuck due to simple physics. Watch: kzbin.info/www/bejne/maDKqplsis97bbc Not a bad feeling to have though. If you feel that your arms must be turning off.

I feel your theories are spot on and I have alerted others to your You Tube videos. Have been trying to incorporate your hip rotation. One thing I find lately is that I am hitting a number of dead pulls Any suggestions ???

Glad you like the tips. I appreciate it plus the promo to others. So many people out there need help. The pull is you hitting from the top with the arms. Lean left and you will swing left. So you need more right tilt in the downswing. You can get this by firing the lower body with the arms turned off or you can manually tilt. Follow these tips: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2mpqYaQiNJ-e9k (secret tip) kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZOoXpuwib2ahNE kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4bbnX5-grJ7qsU kzbin.info/www/bejne/pme8iJx4hdOEp6s kzbin.info/www/bejne/oqGkppp6q8aenLc kzbin.info/www/bejne/emKufWp9bbugqNE kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJSzfpJ8iNR7hK8 kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXm2lJyFhpZod6c kzbin.info/www/bejne/o6GbfqWfgb9nqck kzbin.info/www/bejne/bGXbhoCKmNehaKs kzbin.info/www/bejne/maDKqplsis97bbc

Thanks for the great information. This is one of my biggest issues - I don't finish the turn. After watching this video. I realize I'm not even starting the turn correctly!! I try to time it with my arms and turn everything at once. That's not the way to do it!! I see this now. I will be practicing this - for sure.

Very good. Have a clear picture of what you need to do in your mind before you do it. Also, make sure you are doing daily practice swings at home. Sounds like you have a bit of work to do and it's going to take daily repetition.

I find feeling like I'm keeping my back to the target in the backswing and downswing creates separation and activates the lower body to swing the upper body thru transition and release. If I spin my hips too fast it sometimes causes me to come over the top.
