I first learned of Silvia Stjärna from Lewis LeVal giving her credit for the routine he used and credited her for on his “Devil Knows” project. I would argue that the type of force matters with this routine, as it is used in the context of giving a Cartomancy reading for more than one card…eventually getting to the force card. And how you reveal the force card is what’s most important here. It becomes more than a card reveal when taken in its full context. It becomes a hard-hitting finish for a Cartomancy reading. I didn’t memorize the entire script and I don’t think you have to. You employ your own reading style to the performance and you can pivot your patter to sync with the situation and the person you’re reading for. I’ve used this several times as a means to enhance a reading and send my spectator/sitter off with something special. Context is key with this one and in its proper context, the force used - as simple and classic and well-known as it is - actually matters here. I would not recommend this for anyone wanting to do a trick or a basic mentalism effect. But if you’re doing Cartomancy readings, this can be a fun little thing to tack onto it. If you’re not interested in doing readings and you’re just looking for a mentalism trick, this isn’t for you. Even though Lewis LeVal taught it in the video teachings I already have, and I had performed it long before I bought the download from Silvia, I went ahead and bought the download just to get her take on it and maybe see if there were some additional details or nuances that would help in my use of it.

I can save 5 bucks and create my own fate card routine. Won't take me more than a paragraph or a page to script my own version.

Great review and great advice. And don't forget....You could sell that memorisation masterclass for $5 all day long.

there is a memorization masterclass?

If I could memorize lines, I'd head for Broadway.

but can you dance?

Every magician SHOULD know how to memorise a pre decided script, *in fact magic is essentially a form of theatre. So if you’re not already confident enough to head for Broadway, “not that you should”, you should work on polishing your performance skills!*

@@smneildas657 Oh, I do a great job of memorizing what I write myself. It's other peoples' words that don't work for me.
