You are AMAZING....again!!!! You went slow enough for anyone who is a beginner to get this. You made it look simple. I've noticed the problem my beginners (who I teach) have is, not knowing how to hold the yarn in place while tryingto make the beginning stitches, maybe unable to use all the fingers to hold at various spots, or don't let the hook do the work by turning it properly. Perhaps you could teach them the little things. I'm old & trying to teach some beginners & these are just a few of their difficulties while learning. Most are doing much better. I have a couple who are 'naturals'. I will be referring all of them to YOU on KZbin from here on out. You're a GREAT teacher!!!!! I learned the basic stitches at about age 12. My sister taught me. Those were great memories. I've subscribed & I'll encourage the ladies in my class, who are much younger, too do so as well. Wishing you many blessings 🙏.

Your nails are so pretty! I work in a library and someone turned in the book you have out with all the cute loose fitted hats. I just started crocheting last August and have only made scarfs and s headband and flowers so far! I'm glad to learn this trick from you. Also, I checked out that book right away when someone returned it. Wanting to purchase it myself from Amazon! Been looking through it and can't wait to start on my first hat today ☺️

This is how I make my magic ring too. I have seen some crazy ways to make them. This has to be the simplest and easiest way to make them.

I heard that's a great way to start a hat. I've actually tried it and practiced it and I also think it's a better way to start a hat so that you don't have a hole at the top.
