I played the majority of the paper magic that I played in this era. Only played on my computer and a little arena since, but I enjoy the nostalgia of pack openings. Takes me back to my freshmen year in high school.

@twitchster77 there are people who sell empty boxes on eBay. They're way cheaper than sealed ones if you're interested in just the box.

I did not realise that they did the gift boxes in Revised, through it was only for 4th edition!

@MagicOpenBoosterShorts they did them for Portal, Portal Second Age, and Starter 1999 too! There were actually 3 different Gift Boxes for 4th edition. I've done videos for all of them except for Portal Second Age, the 4th Edition Euro Introductory Gift Box, and the 4th Edition Japanese Introductory Gift Box, but those are coming up in the next few episodes of Throwback Thursdays. 😁

Very nice Video. Throwback for sure! Didn't even know this product existed. Somehow sad to see it opened, but i like how you approach it: exactly the way it was supposed to be opened. Not about EV, not about Grading. just enjoy the game in a random 1v1 game. That's how i started the game: the guy who showed it to me and myself each bought a 4ED Starter deck each!. Such different power level of cards, that otherwise never ever see play (again). Epic Arts as well for sure. Too bad these packs only had 2 Rare though. Thanks for they journey!

@TheCaptainCruise Yeah, Revised was kind of rough on rares. This is the first Gift Set that they made if I remember correctly. That's what Magic is about, it's meant to be played!

This is the very first Magic product I ever opened back around Christmas 1994 (still have several empty boxes from opening a half dozen of them). You couldn't find revised packs anywhere at the time, and I had bought a couple packs of Fallen Empires not knowing it couldn't be played stand alone. My big cards I recall from that box were Aspect of the Wolf, Serra angel, Mind Twist, and Armageddon Clock (which we miss played for months). For S&Gs I actually filled out the product survey card a few years back and mailed it to WotC. The box likely warped with time, they were very much squared when produced. The beads were bubbled even back then, they were NOT expensive parts.

Sad to see you got shorted rares which is very common to happen in revised bad quality control back in the day. wasn't actually to rare to randomly get startes with all basic lands. Your 4 rares were el hiaje Jandor's ring Deathlace and timber wolves. Fun watch and seeing you get excited about the old cards.

@TalamarAmV Thanks for watching! Yeah, Revised Starter Decks only have 2 rares usually, and they were pretty poopy ones, but the fun is in the journey. 😄 I love sharing the joys of cracking packs with everyone! ❤️

Awesome stuff man i wish i was more competant in 93 94 but sadly all my young mind thought bout was power rangers lol while yall was throwing around spells not knowing these cards would be worth a small fortune decades from now. Great history pokemon was my 1st card game i jus liked the cards didnt play till yugioh then got n2 magic i have 4 revised duals hopefully 1 day i can finish the set my son is making sure that day never comes though lol
