@@VinnieKielbasa “staples” aren’t cards that always held value. Noxious revival was worth what under 2 dollars 5 years ago even less further back. It pays to look through your bulk/common box every few years. 3 years ago I found a card in my common box I cracked from some packs of Saviors of Kamigawa I won at a legacy tournament forever ago. I had forgotten I had the card entirely until I saw it and I recalled being super annoyed that it was a foil crappy rare, at the time. Now I have an unplayed NM foil Oboro, Palace in the Clouds which sells for about $400-500. I also have a friend that tossed out a nm playset of Mishra's Workshops because he was in a rush to pack-or-purge when he moved out of his parents house and tossed some boxes of commons, one box of which had his Shops because he was too lazy to put them away properly a few weeks prior.

Best lesson I learned from "recheck your old cards": I played MtG a bit when I was in School, back 1996-1998 .. never really got big into it, as just had money for some booster packages and starter decks back in time. While corona pandemic I dug out my old cards, because a friend plays, and I thought it might be nice to build a deck again. So, we went through my cards (he has a bit of experiences in cards and prices), and I was sure I have nothing of value.. I had some 5 to 10 buck cards... mostly just that stuff everyone had back then.. and we already where joking about "Nothing" of value when there were some nice cards... well.. the joke was on my, when in one of my stacks my old Lion's Eye Diamond was nicely sleeved. I never used that card, due I never had a deck around "have a full hand in the cemetery" mechanic... So I never really thought that big of the card as a more valuable card.

Most of the stuff was from Double Masters, Moder masters and products like that. I think I pulled a few $10 uncommons. But nothing outrageously good. But was a lot of fun to go through.
