A wonderful deep conversation. Enjoyed the discussion about the people who’ve impacted your lives but the talk about the modern day relevance of magic is pure gold. Thank you both so much.

Absolutely insightful & teachable moments if you are willing to listen & apply. The one thing that I can always say about your magical conversations is that anyone can apply these things to not just magic but to life. Be humble, don’t make this life all about self, really listen to the person that you are speaking to (which for me) would mean in this day and age putting away your cellphone while engaging in conversation with someone & last but not least think of how you can be the magic in someone’s life by making their day, week, month or year better than it was just by being kind & truly authentic & loving towards them. Great, great magic conversation for me gentlemen ✊I felt it!

Watching that conversation was a very refreshing and enjoyable way to relax and think about magic instead of simply watching tricks being performed. Hope to see many more similar conversations in the future. It would have been nice to have perhaps included a short video of Richard performing ?

Hi Henry, as you said, “refreshing and enjoyable”. These podcast conversation will focus exclusively on narrative. Not enough being done in this domain.

Michael & Richard - Thank you so much for this conversation! I watched the episodes in reverse order, so I viewed this one after watching Episode 2. I enjoy this approach with pure, deep conversation. I know some other viewers might like to see a performance, but I am of the opinion that there is plenty of videos available with performances. This format is unique in the magic world. The discussion of Cardini brought back wonderful memories of my friends & mentor who would attend dinner parties with the Cardini's and share stories of their interactions. I love the way that you jazz through the conversation! I was thinking of what questions I might ask during these episodes and here are some for your consideration. You have touched on some of these already and I love the historical aspect of walking through the guest's lifetime in magic together. Thank you Michael! Who were your influences in magic and why? What contributes to making a magic trick more fooling or brings about the greatest astonishment? What has been the greatest sources of magic inspiration for you? (books, videos, mentors, persons, friendship circles, clubs, etc.) What do you believe is the most effective way to engage an audience? When you review your performance of a magic trick... what do seek to revise? Do you see magic as being a metaphor for something greater or perhaps primeval? If you were able to give magic related advice to the "younger you", then what 3 things would you share?

Hello Michael, I'll start by saying that your thoughts and insight on magic has elevated my magic throughout the years. To be brutally honest i thought the conversation with Richard McDougall was a bit tedious. Perhaps this was due to not knowing Richard, perhaps? Just a thought with future "Magical conversations, you may consider having your guest perform one quick effect of their choosing so that the viewers can become acquainted with his/her style of magic, no revealing of secrets, just performance. I know your style is impromptu but having your future chats a bit organized may help. Q cards with specific questions doesn't hurt. As you mentioned during your chat "you don't take criticism well" but this is not criticism just a few suggestions. Keep them coming.

Thanks for sharing your feedback. This is what is required to make future episodes even more engaging. Trying to please everybody is impossible. I do my best. Your observations are taken well be me. My intention is not to feature any magic. The conversation is the magic. Sharing thoughts and ideas, discussing, listening is very important in the rich visual media environment. If you haven’t heard of Richard then his magic would delight you. Take it from me, he is a superb magician. Thanks again.

Thank you. I thoroughly enjoyed this interview. Very enlightening and very good topics covered. May I ask you a question please Michael? Do you feel that you chose the art or that the art chose you?
@MichaelVincentMagic9 ай бұрын
Very good question Karen, I truly believe god blessed me with the passion for this craft. So yes, I was chosen, not by the craft, BY GOD🙏🏽 That’s my faith right there. X
