Magical Crochet Stitches Stockings Toe

Ok. I’m pretty fluent in crochet sts. If I don’t know a st, I can catch on first time around. But for the life of me, I cannot do this split sc. I’ve tired it loose like you suggested, I’ve tried light colours and I even tried st markers “in” every st made in the ring. And I STILL can’t get it. I know what the st looks like “kinda”, and I seriously can’t get it. Can I just do normal sc?
