Lately, I know so many people that are feeling that call to get back to nature, grow their own food and disconnect from the "digital rat's nest" of the big cities. And they all say they are so much better off for dong it. And it isn't as difficult as many think it is. Your Yurt is wonderful! Nice job. You will probably convince more to take the plunge into the wild, wonderful outdoors. Thanks for sharing.

tent tip: roll the window flap so the rolled part is tucked up inside and the top hanging part is on the outside. That way the rain does not drip inside the roll, but rolls off the outside (make sense?)

Absolutely the best yurt I’ve seen yet. I have seen many many of them however they have either been too big and too fancy to way too small like a shed, but this one seems to be the most perfect size of all I e seen. I love how you have repurposed wood and furniture and even countertops love love that. I’m all about using what I’ve got no matter what. I am seriously thinking of buying a yurt and having just about the same exact setup as this one. I even like the fact of the bathroom outside. I was raised with no electricity and or running water so this would not be a thing for me. All of my children are grown and have families and I think they would absolutely love bringing my grandbabies to see Nanee in her yurt house. As for no cell phones or TVs or internet that to me would be a dream come true. I can’t stand that technology has taken over our outdoor desires and has made everyone soft. Not downing anyone but if you think about when we were kids now let me say I’m 56 years old but when I was a kid I could remember ALL my friends phone numbers my families phone numbers like all in my head. Technology has taken that ability away from us to the point that most people don’t know what day it is till they look at their phones. No thanks I’ll take no electricity over technology any day. Love Love Love the yurt. You have given me one more nudge toward making my dream of having a yurt come true.

@@lorellabuzzi3232 What is impossible in winter? Growing? Showering? It's possible to grow year round here, if you have a greenhouse. It doesn't really snow here. We're in growing zone 7-8, depending where you are. I grew beets, cabbage, kale, garlic, and other things in cold frames, too. Showering outdoors here in winter can be distinctly chilly, but hot water is nice. That's why you need a thick robe-to get back in the house quickly to dry off and get dressed indoors.
