So happy that reactors have started including the scene of Raziel telling Willow: "Your children will come to remember this day." Those words coupled with the wonderful music never fail to move me.

This was the closest thing in spirit to a legitimate Lord of The Rings movie for more than a decade.

1. Fun movie! 2. That two headed critter is all kinds of cool!😎 3. When the evil queen goes down I think, "Couldn't happen to a nicer guy" 4. Trivia time: Warwick Davis' first gig was the lead Ewok in "Return of the Jedi" when he was only 13 years old. 5. Val Kilmer had a respectable resume. Another movie with him in it not mentioned enough is "The Doors" where he plays Jim Morrison and does all the singing in the movie. His(and my) love interest is Meg Ryan.😍 6. IRL Kilmer and Joanne Whalley fell in love making this movie and were briefly married. 7. The brownies remind me of Lenny and Squiggy from the old "Levern and Shirley" tv show. 8. GOOF: Kaya is seen in the ending celebration then shows up with the children and acts like it's the first time she sees him. 9. Is there anything Ron Howard can't do?

James Horner did the music in this film. Other Val Kilmer films that are really good is "The Saint" and "Thunder Heart" Both are good stories and his acting is amazing. Great video. This film is a favorite.

4 out of 5 seems about right for me. This movie was basically like our Lord of the Rings when we were younger and it was a great substitute at that.

Its Madmartigan! This is my favorite Val Kilmer film and role! But other Val movies I recommend: Heat( with Pacino and Deniro) Real Genius, Tombstone, Spartan and def recommend: Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang with Robert Downey Jr. That's a great movie and Downey and Kilmer's dynamic is phenomenal

I don't know if it was a change in the way they casted or the way they directed child actors but something did change it seemed in the '70s with movies like Close Encounters of the Third Kind, the kids just seemed more real than in movies of previous decades.

The two headed dragon is called an Eborsisk. Named after the two movie critics Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert.

To add more now that I've watched the rest of your reaction after I got the time. The Eborsisk didn't self destruct. If you rewatch you'll see that Madmartigan stabbed the dragon in the back of the head and his sword went through its neck. This blocked the Eborsisk's ability to breath fire which is why it swelled up and its head exploded. Willow fighting off General Kael and surviving is actually quite a feat if you think about it. Especially when later in the film it took both Airk and Madmartigan to take him down. General Kael and his army nearly took out Airk's army earlier in the story offscreen.

Suspend the cynicism and jadedness, just have fun watching - that's what this movie means to me. If you haven't seen it already, you might also enjoy Goonies, same era, also FUN!

There are faults in the movie, but it passes the Bechtel test (two women in a scene not taking about man) which was rare for the time.

I think that different moviemakers will have different ideas of what trolls look like and how they function. In nordic mythology they are enormous creatures that may even come to form part of the landscape. The mythology also reflects the transition from a pagan society into a christian society. For example in the fairy-tales I grew up with, trolls could smell and wanted to kill, those with "kristenmannsblod" (christian blood). That's why I was dissappointed in this iteration of trolls, when first seing "Willow" as a child. Later on I've learned to accept them, but now I can't get over the Eborsisk (named after movie critics Siskel and Ebert) twin-headed dragon. The stop-motion animation is too obvious. Otherwise I really enjoy this movie. To the point where it's become my favourite movie of all time. Obviously I would rate the movie a solid 5 stars.

Giants in Nordic mythology are enormous creatures that can be still for so long they become part of the landscape. Trolls are traditionally hairy human-sized creatures that live in the forest. Possibly originally inspired by Finns.
