Warwick Davis has been in a lot of George Lucas films. He was the little ewok with Lea in Star Wars episode 6. "Willow " was the first film that Warwick wasn't in a costume hiding himself. Check him out online and you'll see how . Many films he was in. He was only 17 years old when the made "Willow ".

He was also the Leprechaun in the leprechaun horror movie series. He was the goblin banker and flit wick in Harry Potter. He was more in costumes in a lot of his movies. He was Marvin the paranoid android in the newer version of “The Hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy” and Wickett the Ewock in Star Wars and the separate Ewock adventures.

A couple of tidbits: While Ron Howard directed, this was largely Lucas having fun (hence the Wilhelm scream and the Lucas punch noise). Also, after some feuds with film critics, he got some revenge with this script. The fearsome General Kael was named after Pauline Kael of the NY Times, and the two-headed beast, the Eborsisk, was named for Siskel and Ebert. Also, Pat Roach, who played General Kael, has a habit of dying in Indiana Jones films. He was both the German airman whom Indy fought on the tarmac and ended up being shredded by a propeller and the Thuggee slavemaster who beat the kids in the Temple mines. His scene from Last Crusade was cut.

This movie really helped put Val Kilmer on the map. He previously had done a few comedies. He went on to do more action films, most notably playing Batman in one of the 90s films. Perhaps the biggest star, however, imo, is Billy Barty who played the Elwun village elder. He was pretty much THE premier little person of that era. If you were gonna hire little people, you wanted Billy! If I remember right, you watch "Me, Myself & Irene". The guy that played the limo driver that fathered Hank's kids is visible in the village as well as an extra.

Billy Barty was big in little people on and off the screen. He organized and unionized them, fought for their rights. Back in the late 30s, when they needed little people to portray Munchkins, it was Barty who gathered people for the cast. He wasn't able to be hired due to being too young at the time. I recall Barty as the character named Screwball in "Legend".

I remember watching this on ABC then they showed the movie in 2003 in its original widescreen format during the Sci Fi Channel Christmas Day Movie Marathon. Val Kilmer (Madmartigan) married Joanne Whaley (Sorsha) after the release of the movie, but called it quits in 1996.

The sword that covered the arm was actually based on an Indian sword called a Patah. The idea was to use it almost like a lance and to strike with the full force of the arm, without needing a handle to get in the way, but more than likely, it was more of a gimmick/ceremonial weapon.

I grew up loving this movie. Just happened across it in the VHS section of my public library as a kid lol. The comedy, the action, the music even! What I've learned I love about it over the years of rewatching is that it knows how to introduce an idea early on and pays off on it later. It seems a lot of stuff skip that intro part and jump right to the extreme use and people complain like "Oh, they can do that?!" Like the love powder with the brownies and then Mad Martigan later. His simple magic trick with the pig at the beginning and then with Elora at the end. Fin Raziel saying how Bavmorda turned her into the animal and then later Bavmorda turning the whole army. It reminds me of D&D shenannigans. You introduce a concept in a non-essential moment just for the laughs, but then it's been established and you can work it into essential moments later lol.

I never noticed it before but there seems to be a running theme in this movie that doing magic is painful to the sorcerer. Whenever Willow would try to use the wand it hurt him badly. So when Willow used the disappearing pig trick on the baby, he faked being in pain afterwards, so she would believe it was real magic.

You're thinking of David L. Lander who was Squiggy and that's not him. The shorter brownie was played by Kevin Pollak, who now plays Moishe Maisel in Amazon Video's "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel". Interestingly, the Mrs Maisel character is a standup comedian and, just prior to being a brownie in "Willow", Kevin Pollak was a successful standup comic.

Madmartigan (played by Val Kilmer) had a fairly successful career during/after this film, but his not really known to be in the top level of actors, the career tailed off a bit in, a rough guess around the 2000s, though \i think he still pops up here and there. The other actor that had some form of success is Willow Ufgood (played by British actor Warrick Davis), his been in numerous larger films that obviously require actors/actresses that are small people, one was the Star Wars series, and has more recently been on television (British). One is a gameshow host, and around 10 to 20 years ago he was on series two/three of a sky programme called 'An Idiot Abroad' made by Ricky Gervais and Steven Merchant (Steven Merchant made an appearance in one of the X-Men spin off films).

I know you're familiar with Val Kilmer. The girl with the "red hair" became his wife later. It is said that they met and fell in love on the set of that movie.

Hair and outfitting can make a huge difference. I haven't seen Top Gun, but looking up images I can see how it would go unnoticed as he does look quite different. Looks like a white surfer punk in Top Gun with the blonde/frosted tips, but here he seems a bit darker in skin tone with black hair. Just looks quite different. If you look right at the facial structure of the eyes/nose/mouth you can tell.

Not sure this is a better camera than your go-pro, however it could just be the learning curve that comes with using new equipment (as someone who was owner of a video production business I know all about that). One thing that might help, though.... turn off the auto focus and just set your focus manually if at all possible. You should have recognized the actor playing Madmartigan (Val Kilmer), he was in Top Gun (although it's been over a year since you watched that). Warrick Davis (Willow) played numerous characters in both Star Wars movies and the Harry Potter Series.

It would be great to see you do a reaction for UPGRADE 2018 its a very underrated movie and i can tell you it's definitely one of the best 21st century sci-fi movie. Only just 3 million dollars budget they managed to make something much brilliant and much better than most Hollywood movies these days. I highly recommend for you to see it 👍 Here is some others movies that i definitely want to see you do a reaction that i have already highlighted. Also other movies that i have separated from the highlighted ones either you want to a reaction or not. It's your choice 😊👍 *Speed Racer* *Deep Blue Sea* *Ninja Assassin* *Dark City* *Reign of Fire* *Tron Legacy* *Vantage Point* *Inside Man* *Burn After Reading* *LA Confidential* *Den of Thieves* *Pain & Gain* *Cube 1997* *Exam* *Eagle Eye* *Black Hawk Down* the ending of this very inaccurate because the US army didn't "save themself" from the war. A foreign military from Malaysia helped them from getting killed and saved them, you can look it up on the internet. Hollywood and directors should definitely show what really happened based on real event like this war,it's an absolute disgrace for them to show something that is very wrong from what happened. Yes, I'm from Malaysia 😊😄 Chinatown The Skin i Live in American Animals Jeepers Creepers 1 and 2 10 Cloverfield Lane The Town Den of Thieves Queenpins Assault on Precinct 13 1976 or 2005 The Other Guys Shot Caller All 3 Maze Runner Ready Player One Children Of Men Collateral Dawn Of The Dead I Saw The Devil The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Tokyo Drift Requiem For a Dream Melancholia Magnolia Sunshine Life The Master Superhero Movie 2008 Crank & Crank High Voltage Infinity Pool Crimes of the Future 2022 Eastern Promises Bad Times at the El Royale American Psycho Apocalypto Splinter No Reservations The Taking of Pelham 123 Starship Troopers In Bruges

George Lucas doesn't like using known actors in his movies. Being in a George Lucas movie turns you into a star; being a star doesn't get you cast in a George Lucas movie. Val Kilmer was probably the most famous of the actors going in to this film... but he wasn't super famous at the time; became moreso later. Harrison Ford, Natalie Portman, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver... all became major stars *after* starring in a Lucas film. Only major exceptions to this rule I can think of are Sir Alec Guinness, Christopher Lee, and Samuel L Jackson.
