Is there a good amount of people into old magic at the cons? I'm not sure why I think this, but I've always just assumed it was overwhelmingly people that are into the newer stuff.

I would say majority of people there are into the new stuff, the fact that it's a tournament means that's going to be the case. But there are still a lot of folks into vintage stuff, and a lot of Commander/EDH players are into both. Most every vendor usually has probably 3/4 new shiny stuff, but also solid vintage sections, and there are lots of vintage magic artists along with more modern ones, so there's something for everyone.
