I think the First Magician told a story of how a man discovers magic, uses it for entertainment and to spread joy and awe, then uses his skills for money and wealth, leaving him with eventually no more money and no more magic. I dunno maybe I'm just overthinking it but it was an amazing act.

I was following the first few bits with dealing seconds, the deck switch and the clothes switch, the double lifts, then with the shenanigans with the ribbon I was like "ok I don't know how exactly he did all of that, I guess I'll rewatch later to work out the details" and then he pulled out the coins and I just lost all hope of figuring this out. Incredible routine
@theoutsiderspost4982

blazejecar The ribbon part and the card are pretty much like so: The ribbon can connect with mat below it. With Velcro possibly. Then it allows him up stretch the mat over the card and give the illusion it is changing it. There are actually a few pieces of card hidden under that mat. The vanta black Mat is very deceptive.

The thing that is so amazing about the first guy is how beautifully he performs the routine. It's completely silent but it tells an intriguing story. His movements are artful and flowing. I'm sure there are many parts of it that some can take apart on how he does it, but that's not the point. The point is the art itself. I think Ricky Jay would have appreciated that routine for the artfulness which it was.

@cat owner @JME You're not meant to figure it out as a layman, that's the whole point of it being entertaining! Just because you don't know how it's done doesn't mean it's an elaborate trick or that it's edited. He's using simple concepts already WELL-known in magic, just using them to his own creativity. There's no trick table. And a fism act can't be edited. Anyone who thinks that probably doesn't understand that people have talents and are willing to learn things that you aren't. Like if you can't play guitar as well as Joe Satriani, it doesn't mean he requires edited video footage to do so or that he has an elaborate method to doing it. It's called skill and practice.

The execution of Chien's act is my favorite "style" of performing magic: the kind where the magician acts as amazed as the audience by what's happening. Like how the act opens with "Ooooo, a shiny box? Hmmm, wonder what's inside? Lets see..." As Chris said: "He's the most intrigued by random inanimate objects that I've ever seen." To me this kind of performance makes the magic feel "more alive", like literally anyone sitting in that seat could do this because the magic is in the items, not in the magician. The magician is just along for the ride like everyone else, and acts just as amazed as everyone else when something amazing happens.

That stress illusion is based on the fact that under stress, your eyes tend to dart around, moving more and taking in more information, similar to frames per second. The illusion itself is more pronounced as you move your eyes across it, so theoretically if you are more stressed, the effect will be more pronounced. When a person is relaxed, so are their eyes, they settle and move much less. Hope that explains that illusion for anyone wondering what it had to do with stress.

According to BBC, the real owner of this image is Yurii Perepadia, a 50-year-old designer from Oleksandriya, Ukraine. The psychotherapist from Japan does NOT exist. Even though it is a still image, the viewer can see it in motion. It is a great optical illusion but does not in any way reveal the state of your mental health. Link www.storypick.com/stress-optical-illusion/
@DanteYewToob
@DanteYewToob 5 жыл бұрын
@@zetrel Yeah, that's what I was saying. The illusion works when your eyes move across it, when you're stressed or in a heightened state your eyes tend to move around a lot more to take in more info. It isn't a stress detector, but I was just noting the likely cause of the link between the illusion and stress. A bar near my home uses a similar illusion poster, that is very effective when you're drunk. When sober, the effect is very weak or even non existent for some people, but when you are drunk, your brain processes images slightly differently, and makes the illusion work! It had a sign, if the poster is moving, you're not driving.. or something like that. People liked that poster lol This one reminds me of that one.

7:00 a possible answer is if the security camera records onto magnetic tape sometimes old tape is reused and a new recording is written on top of the old tape. Some times there are elements that are not erased/overwritten for brief periods . for example the person in the video was never there because it was from another time and the tape wasn’t recorded/written properly.when they disappear it is because the tape was properly recorded/written.

This is probab the best routine Ive ever seen. Cuz not only the tricks and sleights are freakin mind blowing but the whole act has a story you can create onyour mind. Like hes not a magician just a guy who finds this mistery box and realizes its magical and all these things and... just amazing. Some human beings are just way above everyone else. Im mind blown, art doesnt get much better then this

A bit too general though. That saying usually is meant for Japanese or Chinese people, right? Asia has a lot more countries than that though. I guess it's a way for these 40+ other countries to feel good about themselves though, when they are not really the origin of that saying.

For the illusion at 7:38 to 8:00. What the illusion does is cause the image to be in motion as you focus on different parts of the image. so basically to get it to "stop moving" you just literally don't change your center of focus

At 3:26 there is a flash but it is barely visible and it is in the bottom left corner of the card as we look at it. But the routine is based on some rather old principals and exploits the desire to explain the trick.

Can already tell at 1:31 he's dealing the red cards from the top, and dealing the blue cards from the bottom of the deck with his ring finger - doing it swiftly with a thumb movement on the top to mimick dealing the top card. Then I can see him clearly tug what appears to be a false front of his vest down and I see the change happen there. Afterward, it's wizardry.
@PfropfNo1
@PfropfNo1 5 жыл бұрын
the lighting situation was actually very unfortunate for the bottom deal. making his ringfinger flash up every time he takes a blue card. with a proper lighting it would be basically invisible i think.

Go frame by frame on the vest change. There is no way he pulls it down that quickly, like its black one frame and red on the next. I'm not claiming "oh its cgi" but I think its more complex than pulling down a false front.

I like when magicians can't figure something out, as it's nice knowing I'm not just an average, every day moron XD Like that first guy, like obviously it probably just boils down to slight of hand, misdirecting, palming and stuff, but as to how he does it, what he was doing, where he was keeping everything, where he was putting everything, how it got to where it did, and how he created those illusions, no idea XD

I also love how it doesn’t portray one specific side as good and bad but a little of both. A very strong sense of reality I’d say
