Thank you for these videos. I set up a port of my AT&T landline and now my magicjack online account has the old ported number and a "free" new magicjack number. Do you get to keep both numbers? I'm not sure if I messed something up

I don't think so. Once your phone number fully ports over you lose what they call the virtual number.

The you pick your number from a list available in the area code you want.

Thank you so much for your video. Do you think I can still port my number if I disconnected my AT&T service about 2-3 months ago. If I check off the block and they deny it, will I get my $19 or so dollars refunded? What do you think I should do? Should I activate it first and later try to port it?

I think you can, I switched my land line to OOma years ago and I paid only $4 per month, with OOma I kept my land phone number. Magic jack is better than Ooma in the fact that Magic jack is much smaller than Ooma box and you can travel with Magic Jack.

Not to my knowledge and I talk about 200 minutes a month between the MJ itself and the phone app.

how long it took them to port your number to magicjack ,and was it still active until you canceled previous provider?

it only took about 3 days and that same day I cancelled the service from my previous provider.

We've been using them for years. We have an older magic jack device. Do you know if the old one is no longer supported? We went to renew today and it showed our phone number and device when we first logged into the website. Now it says no devices or numbers registered. Everything was working yesterday. I've tried multiple numbers on the website. I am not able to reach anyone with the numbers on the website. Had the same number for about the last twenty years and don't want to lose the number. Just because it expired today.

You need to be honest with your viewers/or subscibers regarding MJ, it has issues or problems. If you call MJ customer service before you activate service, you can speak with live rep that will answer your questions (if you ask right one but it lack a few importance details) but once you activate the service and have issues/problems or even billing you will be on hold forever then call drops or refer you to on-line tech support that lack answers to all issues/problems. Hey I am on day 2 service, after mult issues installing got assigned number, then install app on my smartphone but it kept dropping calls within a minute, also problems deleting voicemail then I uninstall the app but it still appears on MJ on-line account with my smartphone info. Few other issues within the activation process that need to corrected in my account requires a customer service rep.
