I’ve got voted out of so many groups with my Magicka do. But it’s mostly due to wearing cloth. I do 1h and shield and destruction staff. I must say it’s helped me learn. Now when I hit champion 220 I remembered I had 100,000 alliance points and I went and bought elfbane. Now I’m using that and willpower and I’m more stable.

I’m using siroria on body, BSW on front bar, zaan, maelstrom on back bar with theif mundus... holy cow it’s a lot of dps

hey Alcast! Your dps here is 36k+. Mine with your build is barely the same, with Siroria + BSW + Zaan I have now almost 38k. But how to increase DPS to have it around 50k or so? I saw a plenty of videos where people with the same gear as yours made 50k+ dps. Basically the rotation is also the same. Please comment

Hey Alcast, used your guide last update and will this update for my Mag DK. One question that I haven't seen answered though and isn't in your "changes from previous version" section on your guide is why we are changing back to the off balance Flame Lash/Power Lash? In your previous version you mentioned the morph that increases ardent flame ability damage was better now, what changed to change morphs again? Can anyone answer?

The reason he chose Flame Lash over Molten Whip imo is because this is a Trial build, and in trials your group will have players that use lightning staff (like magsorcs), and this can set bosses off-balance and so Power Lash will proc and can help his sustain more. But if you're not playing Trials, better go with Molten Whip imo.

Is channeled acceleration not better than rearming trap, with it's 36 second duration? It has a 1.3s cast time, but it still seems more worth it than using rearming trap at least 3 times as often.

Rearming trap has no cast time so its easy to fit into a rotation Costs stamina instead magicka so its not a drain on our primary resource and it deals damage to boot.

conduit64 Thanks for the reply! I haven't compared the damage of trap beast to whips yet, but is the damage significant enough to miss out on two spammables over the duration of Acceleration? Sustain is a good point, but it's only being cast once every 36 seconds, so I don't see it being a huge difference. Sorry for the rant xD

Leaving the jewelry healthy is a significant dps loss, especially now that light and heavy attacks scale with max magicka.

because magblades are broken op right now, healing+range dps if they want to, perfect for adaptability and have no downsides. Merciless resolve is full noob friendly you can just mash buttons and pull decent dps. If you are skilled with merciless though you can really exploit it and hit op deeps

Would it be alright if I were to take Zaan in heavy, elf bane jewelry and staff and rest siroria? Or would that not work?

Elf Bane only buffs the duration of fire abilities if the 5pc bonus is active at the time of cast, so your backbar skills would not get the buff. The primary benefit of Elf Bane is that you get stay on your frontbar longer, meaning more whips per rotation. So the only way to make Elf Bane work with a weapon is to double bar it, and giving up Maelstrom Inferno Staff is a pretty big DPS loss.

without light armor ur damage is crap, u will never be able to do good damge, only if u want to be magica tank then its good idea (also as stam char u could) & have 1 stam skill for taunt or get magica taunt from untaunted light armor boosts MP regen & spell damage, with no no light armor ur dam is crap, well its ok for solo PVE, that much i have learned for stam dps full heavy also is bad just like with light armor med armor boosts wep dam & stam regen, so full heavy is for tank, but even with tank u can have 2h wep on second bar for solo PVE & for PVP, for pvp this build is called pvp tank build, but its good for solo pve to cause 2h does more dam then 1h & cause ur in heavy the 1h dam is even worse maybe with medium armor u could play as S&S char & do descant damage enough for solo pve, but 1h damage in heavy armor with my tank drove me nuts, i wanted to kill faster, that's my experience with s&s in heavy armor

i have the exactly the same build, but i have the valkyn skoria, burning spellwave and the sun silk sets all in epic, but my dps is around 15-20 (and sometimes ups to 30... dont know why, i guess is because the valkyn set explotion)

I have the same setup and was getting similar numbers. Had to use spell power pots. Weakness to elements and molten arms to buff up all the way to get to 30k. If your in a group with a temp they should be buffing you with minors. Also grothdars is better for max mag run the atro or theif stone. Destro destro bsw front bar and a willpower back bar inner light front for equal bar stats and flames of oblivion back so you have major prophecy on both bars. Thats should increase your numbers. It did for me anyways.

as magic class i am always only light armor i never mix armor types, u don't have light armor build for mage DK? i don't mix armor types cause adding few heavy pieces will lower (decrease) bonuses from light armor if i have 7 pieces of 1 type i have more bonuses from that type

THis is a dungeon/trial build, if you are in a group off balance "should" be present and it will activate, if you are doing it solo on a target dummy then it will not activate.

How is moondancer and burning spell weave comparing? With bsw only on front bar, the uptime would drop and even if you don't get shadow blessing all the time, you get regen. With a good team moon dancer should out due bsw.

Yes and no. The combination of Siroria and Elf Bane outperforms BSW + whatever. However if you don't have Siroria then you are better off sticking with BSW. The real question would be which is better, BSW + Silks or BSW + Elf Bane.

You want to replace elf bane with bsw and run double spell damage sets. Maybe with correct cp allocations it can outperform elf bane!! I dont know about sustain cause with elf bane the skills has 2sec longer so you need to cast those lesser times and use that amount of magicka for direct damage attacks.
