MagickX 🕹 XU10 Unboxing & First Impressions

Join me as I unpack the MagicX XU10, a really cool budget retro handheld that sports a RK3326S. I picked up this device off Aliexpress for $45.03 USD. Here we have the purple version and sadly it didn't come with JELOS out of the box. So far I like the controls and a lot of the roms on this device. The buttons are quiet and comfy and for the price, the bang for buck is really good.

Thanks for the review. I have a few of these smaller consoles I actually quite like the XU10. The screen, controllers, buttons and speaker are all pretty good. I don't mind the OS but it would be to nice to have a different one. I tried updating to the new JELOS but had zero luck. The image doesn't seem to create any partition or roms folders - I gave up in the end.

Hi, I managed to install Jelos successfully but there were a few issues... I had to use 2 micro SD cards, one for Roms and one for the OS, on both slots... So far the main issue has been booting up- time is over 2 mins, and some of the buttons need reconfiguration as the dual analogues R3 and R4 are the main exits from a game into retroarch... The side exit button is presently unusable at the moment... Needs reconfiguration in retroarch? On the Jelos wiki it says.. Games can also be added via an SD card. There are 2 primary methods for this depending on your device. If your device has 2 SD card slots.. With your device turned off; insert a FAT32/ExFAT/ext4 formated SD card into slot 2 of your device. Turn your device on. When JELOS completes its boot process, create your game directories by selecting the Create Game Directories option in System Settings. Now you can turn off your device, remove your SD card from slot 2 and open it on your PC. You PC will display a list of folders, open the roms directory and you will see a list of folders for each system where you can place your games and bios files. Add your games and place your SD card back into slot 2 and boot up JELOS. If your device does not see your SD card (or write the needed folders to it) please open System Settings and make sure Autodetect Games Card is turned on (located under the Hardware/Storage header) then reboot your device. ....... Hope this helps...

@RodnySeastarer4921 I just installed Jelos yesterday using a one card setup. Unfortunately, I had to boot into linux to add games because that partition is ext4. So everyone who wants to use a single card setup will have to do the same.

@@JaviPlayRetro ... That's great, wondering what software you used to access the linux partition, presumably the create game directories option was used to create the Roms file... I haven't tried it with one card yet due to not accessing the linux partition but looking forward to seeing how you did it... Thanks for your great videos... It really helps all us handheld gamers... I'm liking the XU10, just a pity that there's no other easy OS availability as the other handhelds have... 😉👍...
