Nice reaction, this Opening ceremony was one of the best imo. The technology they used for the K/DA models is called "Augmented reality" and you are right, people in the arena couldn't see them on stage. They had to watch them on the big screens to actualy see them. In the 2019 they used holonets to project the characters so ppl were able to finaly see everything.
