Good to see Michael with the old guys. He is the biggest loss in history of Simple Minds. Michaels keybords were the signature sound of their music. They never been as good as with Michael, and of course with Mel and Derek. Sad what the band became after that golden 80s.

The only line up required to be the most successful rock band in the world Jim Kerr, Charlie Burchill, Derek Forbes, Michael McNiel and Mel Gaynor. Come on lads sort out your differences and blow the lid of British rock music

I'm glad they played together again on Trevor Horn's album a few years ago, first time in 30yrs, it's just a shame it didn't lead to a full reunion.

Actually, that’s when they began to lose the plot, when they started believing in ‘our sound’ and ‘adding the fairydust’. The first three albums were brilliant, raw, full of edge and street-cred. But, then, the baw-heidedness took over, as I suppose is inevitable when you’re banging the likes of Patsy Kensit and Christie Hynde. Fair play! All that stated, The American and Love Song get played maybe four times as much as anyone of my other favourite tunes and will do as long I am conscious. So, thanks for the musical gateway to my adult life!

Synth players in the 80s were a big deal. Nick Rhodes, Howard Jones, Depeche, ect ect. Mick McNeil was up there with them, he had a superb collection of Analogue gears. See 'the Tube'.

what are they saying, can´t understand a word of that thick scottish word´s..
Simple Minds were a great band. Their music was maybe bigger and greater then U2. I was a great fan in the '80. Until a saw the live performances. The band was great, but Jim Kerr was as a a singer not good. It was a disappointment. Bono was a much better singer/performer. It's a pity because Jim was the leading person of Simple Minds. My feelings to him are so double.

Of Course people have the right to age....But this is like ending up in a parallel universe or something , watching this. How on earth did these 3 corrupt politicians type , dog food salesrepresentavives on a corporatemeeting end up composing the Indie-music-soundtracks to my young life. Empires and Dance , Kant Kino....age really have no saving grace, has it?
