@12:10 confusion clarified below: The RN3000 light has two 21700 3.6V 5Ah cells in parallell = 3.6V * 10Ah = 36Wh. The Battery Pack house exactly the same 21700 cells, but four of them and in parallell/series = 7.2V * 10Ah = 72Wh = twice the capacity.

An alternative to the RN 3000 / 2600 is to buy 2 pcs of Astrolux BL03 at around 2x $26 with coupons/hot sales. Comes at 2x1200 lumen, and doubled safety.

So, I have RN1500 and I'm maybe looking for a RN3000 or 906s. RN1500 is great for rides up to 4 hours if you have some street illumination where you can use low or mid settings. Riding in highways or off-road, in complete darkness, at least here in Brazil, demanded the full 1500 lumen settings, and so a short usage time. So for my next bikepacking travel, I'll buy an powerfull light.

You should try and get some Nitecore bike lights to review. BR25 seems to be the perfect commute/road safe light as it has a beam cut off and it shines light back at the rider. You can see the rider coming towards you and not just a bright spot light with a black background.
@BlairAir
@BlairAir 3 ай бұрын
Yes, but Nitecore are just about the ugliest, mixed bag of styling queues all drawn from 1950 sci-fi flicks. When I want a light to look like Captain Silversheilds Death Ray Gun, I'll go directly to their website 😂

Hi, thanks for the video, since you tested the entire magic-shine lineup I am interested which of these lights Allty 2000, Ray 2600 or RN3000 has the widest beam. And maybe how wide in comparison to the 906s, which I currently own. Thanks !
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 2 жыл бұрын
Great question. I'll have to try them out side-by-side to see which is widest. Based on the lens designs I think the RN3000 is likely the widest just given the size of the reflectors.

Great Video! Hopefully we can have more of these reviews. But if u can or want, can u do a review of the dhb Dorica road shoe, it's a budget lace up road shoe, around 45 euros from wiggle been debating on getting it since Im still a kid and i don't really the budget, would really appreciate it if you do a review about it! But it's also fine u don't. Keep up the videos, cheers!

Appreciate it! We're in the US, so getting dhb products for review will be a bit more difficult but we'll try our best. It's fun to review $500 Scott cycling shoes but realistically budget shoes more popular.

Thank you for your work. I'm torn between the RN3000 and the RN1500. Your final score for the RN300 is 9.0, but for the RN1500 is 9.5. Please clarify because it might help me decide which one to buy.

I would say the RN 1500 and RN 3000 are for different types of riders. The 3000 lumen RN 3000 is quite a bit bright and great if you spend more time in the dark while the RN 1500 is a bit more commuter friendly and has the fun colors. They have nearly the same features though with similar mounting and user interfaces. If you're doing more riding on bike trails I would also suggest the Magicshine EVO 1700 which has a beam cutoff.

Taking into account that there is only a 10 dollar difference between this model and the Ray2600, which one do you think is a better option? Is the light sensor or higher battery capacity preferable? What should be more important?
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 2 жыл бұрын
Good question - I think it comes down to runtime vs. smart features. If you spend more time cycling on the road or commuting then the Ray 2600 is the better choice (better beam + easier to use interface + smart sensor). If you do trail riding or gravel riding the bigger battery of the RN 3000 is a better option.

@@TheSweetCyclists I just ordered the rn1500, because my cateye amp1100 battery barely lasts the listed 1.5 hours (maybe an hour). I mainly ride on the road, do you think rn3000 is a good choice? at 1500 lumens it lasts like 4 hours.
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists Жыл бұрын
@@JitinMisra It depends on the type of rides you do. As you can see, the RN3000 has a bigger battery so if you need more runtime you can run it at half power for longer than the RN 1500. It is quite a bit more expensive though.

Hi. I'm new into bikepacking, which one between these (RN 3000 - MJ 906s) do you recommend to me? Or if not, any light lower $199 will be fine. I 'm looking for a wide beam tho
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 2 жыл бұрын
I'd lean toward the MJ-906 / Monteer 3500S lights if you're doing bike packing as they have an external wired battery pack. That means you can carry a second battery if you plan to do very long rides or re-use the battery packs to charge your other devices. The 3500S has a wider 5-LED lens that might be better for off-roading.

@ The sweet cyclists Which magicshine light is the best of the allty 2000 or the ray 2600 or the rn 3000. All my riding will be 100% city streets riding and alot of night riding. With zero off road riding. Which of the 3 magicshine lights would sever me the best.
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 2 жыл бұрын
Personally I would go with the Ray 2600 - it has an auto day/night mode thanks to the light sensor so you can just leave it in the smart mode. The Allty 2000 is a good option if you want the OLED display which shows actual remaining runtime which is very handy. The Ray 2600 and RN 3000 both just have 3 level battery status indicators which aren't as informative as a screen.

@@black_rifle_veteranFor $75 the Allty 2000 is tough to beat. I still really like the OLED screen and DRLs on the Allty 2000 - no guessing how much battery you have left based on color.

Please tell me which one, ray 2600 or rn3000, dazzles oncoming drivers or pedestrians less? And which flashing is preferable during the day on the highway, fast like 2600 or slow like 3000? What would you use?
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 2 ай бұрын
I think the Ray 2600 in the low beam mode might be a little more friendly for oncoming traffic with it's multiple diffusers on the lens. The Ray 2600 also has a simpler flash mode selection which I prefer over the RN 3000.

I bought one... It's bright and the battery lasts a while but the light is too heavy for the mount. Mine sheared off on the second ride (on smooth roads, not even anything rough!). Customer service from magicshine is very poor. They are refusing to honour the warranty and have been quite unhelpful really. I would avoid. I've gone back to 2 x fenix bc30 which are fine for me, with a much better mount.

@paulworthington53

The supplied mount. To be honest I suspect an out front mount would be worse as it would mean less stability for what it quite a heavy light. The worst bit is the poor service from magicshine UK. I can deal with faults but quibbling over the warranty is just poor.

@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 2 жыл бұрын
Good point - the GoPro to Garmin adapters are cheap to buy separately as well. I still prefer the Ray 2600 for the auto day/night mode functionality which is helpful for daytime riding and the two button interface. If you want more power the RN 3000 is a better option though.
