Magicshine, if you're reading this. I have 2 optical issues with your cutoff beam products; #1 The lumen levels are extremely inconsistent throughout the beam. #2 The yellow artifacts need to be addressed. Solve the optical issues and you'll have a safer light. I say send your engineers to back to the drawing board. Magicshine, if you decide to address the issues, I'll be first in line and happy to pay more.

Mr Sweet Cyclist... In the past you have reviewed many cutoff beam lights. The Lupine SL Mono, the Outbound Tour, the Maghicshine EVO1700 and now the EVO1300. Part of your normal review you compare a verity of lights. However, that is done in a small lit room. If you still have all of the lights that I mentioned, I would find it to be most interesting a side by side compare and contrast performed outside at night. I'm most interested in the Lupine. It appears to have the best of quality and most consistent beam. My only concern is, can it project enough light for my needs? Where I live has a lot of long steep and bumpy roads. If you travel fast, it's a matter of safety to have a beam that can deliver its light near and far.

Great request - Unfortunately I don't have the Lupine light to show it side-by-side outdoors (I have to send the Lupine lights back to the company post review). The Lupine is quite expensive, but it's a great light and can definitely be used at faster speeds. The only downside of these beam cutoff lights is that you'll often find yourself turning in the dark. That's less of an issue with the Outbound Lighting Detour which has a wide lens.

Thanks for your fast reply. I've tried both the EVO 1700 and the Detour. Unfortunately the tow don't deliver the quality of beam that I'm hoping for. Too many artifacts with bright and dim spots. Currently I'm using the Niterider 1800. Plenty of power. I mostly use the two lowest settings. The beam is consistent with a controlled falloff. The problem is glare for traffic and pedestrians. My remedy is to be mindful and alter the tilt as needed. Watching your review of the Lupine SL Mono. Correct me if I'm wrong, on your night ride demonstration. It appears that the SL Mono has a more consistent quality of light than the other lights you have tested. Mr Sweet Cyclist, If I may ask your opinion? Might the SL Mono have enough lumens for long, steep, fast and bumpy roads?@@TheSweetCyclists

I really want a front/rear light combo that works off of a 15000mah external battery. You just need to run the rear light usb c cable and connect it to the headlight splitter, then you plug 1 usb c cable into your battery pack in your top tube bag. All I have to take with me is the battery pack!

Some of the older Magicshine lights (i.e. thesweetcyclists.com/magicshine-mj906/) had exactly what you want - it was a Y-splitter from a wired battery pack to a rear taillight. The taillight wasn't that great though compared to Magicshine's modern Seemee lights. Cannondale has a similar integrated SmartSense system on their bikes (thesweetcyclists.com/cannondale-smartsense-headlight-taillight-radar-system-guide/) as well which runs a radar, taillight and headlight off a single battery.

Can you replace the battery or does magicshine help you with battery replacement?

Hey Hi, thanks for such a detailed review really appreciate you helping the community (I have seen many reviews that you have done on Magicshine lights). I have a query and I would really appreciate it if you could answer it. I plan to buy a Wahoo Bolt Cycle computer + Magicshine light (yet to decide between EVO vs Allty vs RN series) and was thinking to buy an additional $20 attachment for cycle computer. So I see that magicshine EVO + Allty models come with one in the box but would that be compatible with Wahoo? If not what would you suggest me as I don't want to go with Garmin cycle computer but at the same time I like the set up for the Light + Computer being stacked together to reduce the clutter - so how should I go about it?

What about using it while charging? Is it possible? If yes, which power level we can use? All of them?

Nice light and love the way it looks but I feel a bit disappointed with it being under the handlebar. Wish they update the RN3000 to the cutoff with high beam someday but still keep it over the handlebar instead of this under the handlebar trend. That and allow the remote to pair and control 2 devices so I can have that and the evo 1700 running on 1 remote to control the high and low beam functions. The dream. lol.

You should really consider a dual-sided out-front mount. It cleans up your handlebar and lets you mount your GPS computer and light directly in front of your stem. Once you experience it, it's hard to go back to normal stem / handlebar mount setups.

@@TheSweetCyclists yup I have one of those for my bike computer and my evo1700. I just want 1 more cutoff light on my bars for my long night rides when the 1700 runs out. I’m just crazy for lights and don’t mind the clutter. lol. Oh also, I saw this one case on an Amazon buyer’s review where the evo1700 mounting part broke so I have more trust with the light being over my handlebars.

Can you connect the remote to 2 units!

Others have asked the same question with Magicshine lights. I don't think you can, I believe the remote pairing only works with a single product.

This or Evo1700?🤔

I personally like the EVO 1700 a bit more, as the lens is larger and you have a bit more power. Otherwise, the EVO 1300 has a sleeker profile and nearly identical user interface.
