Actually (Well, I read somewhere that) it’s a metaphor about the process of making (and naming it, that’s the reason for the line “breaking my back just to know your name”) a song for his first record (“17 tracks and I’ve had it with this game”, describes the frustration in the process of making the album), as they recorded it, somebody told them the song sounded familiar or similar to another one released previously (Maybe on February, I guess) so, they just used that boyfriend/girlfriend metaphor.
