@allws96833 жыл бұрын
I'd say the push ups and sit ups will get him warmed up well. 'never training' ? Looking at his abs he is very fit and he does enough of those kinds of fitness tests for his vlog to run, even if it isn't his thing.. Given the physical training he does it is not that wild. (I wouldn't do it now, but when I was younger I did a 2950m cooper test at 28°C, without a sixpack, never running, with 1x, 2x taekwondo in a week ... when I could run that , a bloke like Magnus will for sure.. )

@@allws9683 you do not need a six-pack for this running :D it is actually quite amazing how fast he could run with his body - considering the temperature, you did cooper pretty average
@allws96832 жыл бұрын
@@tomassedlacik7236 That's what I say, right ?. mine was not special, average maybe. So Magnus's is a little over average. His last three 400m sections were 1:40. If you extrapolate that to 12minutes, he would have not run more than 3054 meter in 12min. Really not 'spectacular wild' for a fit bloke like Magnus ... btw general theory is that you can better run at 10° C than at 28° C in the sun, when heat and humidity become an issue. He took his shirt off so cold was not an issue.... His build is muscular, but nowhere near a weightlifter, or a front row rugby player, who are disadvantaged in running.
@tomassedlacik72362 жыл бұрын
@@allws9683 it's a wrong premise that he wouldn't run more 3054 (why si accurate by the way?) as cooper is something else than 9 minute run and he would perhaps run more tactically - the problem in his run was the first lap too fast as he isn't experienced, he would be able to run it faster quite easily with a little training or watches checking his pace - and his last lap was quite a lot under 1:40, even under the average pace need for his time... but that's not important, I still don know how have six-pack anything to do with running, people with Magnus's musculature are usually not that good runners... hence not want you said

@nuar_dev3 жыл бұрын
A rather simple explanation for this is that the test is generalized and women have a harder time doing pullups. Therefore only getting the minimum requirement as a woman (2-3), might be considered a serious feat of strength, especially if they carry a healthy amount of bodyfat. In any case, they still have to be able to perform them and I daresay anyone that can do 25 continuous pullups, will crush this test regardless.

The FBI's point system gives you an incentive to go beyond the minimum, so you just keep going until you've maxed out, because let's be honest, if you're shooting for a 10, you're going to be maxing out because they specifically designed it such that most people cannot reach a 10.

Magnus, track runner here. The reason the 300m run was metric while the 1.5 miles was in imperial units is probably because the distance for the test was not truly 1.5 miles but rather 2400m. In America we mostly round the mile down to 1600m when it is 1609m in actuality. Most of the time when Americans say a “mile” when talking about running on a track what they mean is 4 laps of a track, not 4 laps of a track plus 9 meters. I’d be willing to bet that the FBI doesn’t measure out an extra 13.5 meters during that section of the test, and just has their people run exactly 6 laps instead.
@The8675309remix3 жыл бұрын
I disagree. (Also american) My track organizers always would add the extra 9m distance. It was never exactly 4 laps or rounded down.
@reeceproctor94123 жыл бұрын
@@The8675309remix well to be clear, in the track world we obviously make the distinction between the 1600m and 1 mile events because they’re different events and the times are different. I’m just saying that colloquially most Americans probably think “4 laps around the track” when you say a mile. Thats why I’m saying that for this FBI test they probably aren’t drawing that distinction

@@The8675309remix I would hope that anybody organizing a track and field race would either add the extra 9 meters to list the race as a full mile or just list the distance as 1600m if they don’t (thats what basically every meet in CA did)

You can't know that just from a handful of youtube videos. Only Magnus can know. Lots of couples look good on the outside but aren't meant to last. And beside, marriage is a pretty nonsensical thing in 2021. Say they break down 5 years from now, MAgnus is gonna be financially ruined. I know some might say it's a materialistic view, but so many people have their lives ruined like that every single year- ever more every year.

@@Bettie_Rage It's a build game too. Magnus does train endurance and has muscular but quite skinny legs, which means he has decent stamina and doesn't have to wear himself out throwing those stick around, neither does he have much other bodyweight to carry around. I'm built the opposite way. I avoid training legs because I put on legmuscles so much easier than the rest of the body and have tree trunks for legs anyway. Meaning I'm great at any leg strength excersize except running, because then I have to lift those same logs over and over. I'm useless at running. I had 1.3 metric miles (8 imperial miles) to work at one time and made the trip in less than 20 mins from door to I was clocked in on my old bike, but was caught out in the rain one day and thought I'd try running home, and got about 200 meters.

Magnus you beast! You almost max out all of 'em. You're such a fast runner too. Impressive performance. Not sure I understand the footnote though * "... I guess the pull up test is just to see if you can get passed the 1 point limit but the score doesn't count for the total, meaning if you fail the pull ups you fail the whole test.
