Hi Rachel. Thanks for the final update. I'm thrilled to have a spot in Period 8 next year! Just trying to understand your comments about next year's dig. If I look at the map shown on the Scheduled Monument Consent link on the Vindolanda/Magna site, where are you standing when you say that there may be several ditches behind you and a second fort that stretched towards the vallum and the wall? Are you standing on the north-South wall/fence that is shown behind the Roman Army Museum? Cheers, Tony

sorry but as a local it rains up here its not climate change, we have had dryer and wetter years and of course weather impacts archaeology
