Excellent video thank you! One thing people should be aware of is if you drink say the typical 10oz bottle, it can make you very drowsy. This was my experience. I drink it, then had a normal bowel movement in 10 mins, then i became very sleepy and slept for 5 hours, i could not get out of bed. Hours after i started cleaning out. I do have a very low tolerance for any substance that cam cause it. I just wanted to let people know this even if they are at home cleaning out, you may be sleepy

I dont have constipation, but I took Magnesium Citrate on Tuesday, and on Wednesday and Thursday I had black poop! My sister is a nurse, she said I prob had stuck poo in my colon and didnt know it and the magnesium loosened it up and flushed it. It was kinda scary.

Not necessary if you are drinking at least 64oz of water per day. If you are having loose stools or diarrhea, reduce the mag citrate, this is when you would need more water.

68 year old male here. I don't have a hard stool. I have a soft stool that is hard to pass. I think the Magnesium citrate is going to be the best help I have had, so far. On the bottle, mine says take with a meal. It is the NOW brand. I have been taking 400 mg in the morning and another 200 mg around noon. I haven't had any diarrea from this. But I have been able to go to the bathroom without a lot of straining, like I was. I go once every other day now. My primary care physician told me I could take 800 mg a day. I haven't needed that yet. Sometimes to avoid straining I will use a fleet liquid glycerin, which also works very well when you need to go, but can't.

As someone who takes laxatives due to opioid use. The biggest thing I have realized is that water Intake is the best thing. 3-4 bottles before bed 10 bottles a day is idea to avoid the horrible cramps and going 3+ weeks without pooping

How do I convert 200 milligrams to ounces or teaspoons? Usually volume is in milliliters, not milligrams. I'm getting conversion rates of like a few drops from milligrams. Did the speaker mean milliliters? Because that would put it in the vicinity of like a little less than a cup.

He drinks water or lemon water with honey and he just seems to be peeing a lot more but his BM is still very dry and very small.

High fiber foods like walnuts just a handful a day because too much can make you gain weight walnuts have many health benefits it's good for your heart like most nuts it's a superfood and it keeps me regular also salads with spinach arugula romaine lettuce butter leaf lettuce raised bran and other high fiber cereals pistachio nuts raw carrots this is what works for me and I have struggled with regularity most of my life everything I mentioned sends me to the bathroom also ground (and make sure they're ground) flax seeds mix a tablespoon in yogurt also a heart healthy choice

There is no “long-term” solution for IBS-C constipation. What is it? Prescription medication? How is that better than making magnesium? Increasing fiber and water in the diet doesn’t do it either. Walking and exercise? Nope, that might work for someone with very occassional constipation, but not IBS-C.

The side effect of too much mag citrate can diarrhea. If you had loose stools after that dose, you will want to decrease.

Some individuals do have side effects from magnesium supplementation. My recommendation would be to get your magnesium from food sources, i.e. nuts/seeds, green leafy vegetables. Also, if you have only tried one brand of magnesium you may want to look into another brand, there are additional ingredients in supplements and you may be reacting to those vs the actual magnesium itself.

I'm having a hard time finding magnesium citrate in the 1:1 form (not the 3:2 form which is chalky/sandy, basically insoluble, no citrusy taste), which is supposed to have the citrusy taste and is easily dissolvable in water. Does anyone have any recent success acquiring such a powder? I'm interested in the laxative effect of MgCitrate but this 3:2 version just ain't delivering
