to be honest, the round are probably the most expensive things on this videos XD. The 50 BMG rifle, you buy it once and voila.. the bullet , you buy them all the time you shoot and some, like the SLAP or Rofus, can reach 100$ each.

Glad I found this channel, I'm much more interested in this sort of thing than "how many bottles of shampoo can a Glock covered in glitter go through". A suggestion for a future video - I'd love to see how powerful the explosive charge in a Raufoss round is by itself (like not shot out of a .50 at something, I mean removing the bullet from the cartridge and detonating it somehow) maybe suspend one in the middle of a block of ballistics gel and hit it with a .22lr or stick one into the bottom of a melon then put it on a hot plate or leave a blowtorch cooking it. Detonating one in ballistics gel would be ideal because melons are boring. Maybe rig up a weight to drop on one to (remotely) hammer it into a block of wood? Thanks for the great content anyway, keep it up!

As usual, love your videos. Regarding the metal: 1) It did not burn because it had some Calcium in the alloy. 2) This allow has a hardness of 49 brinell and a density of 1,77 g/cm3. It is weaker than aluminum, but that has a density of 2.7 g/cm3. If you got at least 1mm of very hard tool steel (above 60 hrc), like that of a through-tempered wood saw, firmly bonded to the magnesium, you would see a steep increase in stopping power. With a harder allow (up to 70 brinell) that also gets at least 10% deformation at break, you can achieve better results. With 4.5"of alloy plus a 1.5mm strike face of ar-500 or harder steel, you may be able to stop the SLAP.

As someone who works with this alloy of Magnesium: the .50 cal will go through it like butter. Even the more highly alloyed version of Mag won't be a problem. Magnesium isn't a hard metal or a wonder metal. It IS a lightweight material, however.

They make em for the 308 and if you can find em, Remington made accelerators which were 55 grain 223 in sabot then stuffed in a 30-06 brass. I dont remember the exact velocities, but it was above 4000fps.

Ну, кастомайзинг АРок - это американская национальная забава, благо конструкция позволяет. Но тут, как говорится, на вкус и цвет, я предпочитаю более классический дизайн. Хотя тут еще не самый экстремальный вариант тюнинга, без прорезей в ствольной коробке)))
