Those little cartridges hold compressed gas. They can be CO2, which is mainly for airsoft guns or bike tire pumps. N2O or nitrous oxide are sold in the same canisters for whipped cream dispensers, but you can also inhale it for a brief high. Looking at the area you say a lot are found in, they are probably N2O. Pretty good finds 👍. Can't wait to see another metal detecting video Dan. Hope it's soon. I might go do a bit this afternoon.

I think the estate agent was called susie Lamplugh and the cannister is actually for laughing gas. Very contraversial because pubs and clubs sell it legally to the weekend crowd and they inhale the gas and it produces a quick feeling o of getting high. Also Germany calling Germany calling. Love to see you back there showing us around a bit. Some metal detecting, magnet fishing. There would be enough content for both channels. I'd be up for donating to the petrol fund. Anyone else agree? .

5:05 Its called a CO2 cartridge for an air riflebor BB gun. Also used life preserver vests & SCUBA vest or BC (bouyancy compensator). The gun is still in the canal somewhere!!!

It depends on what's in the canisters as to their use, co2 is used for inflating bike tires, air rifles and bb guns where no2 is used for baking I think but these are what people breathe in to get high

You're both right... It could be a compressed air canister for an air rifle/ bb gun. Or it could be Nos from whipping cream gas, which party goers inflate into a ballon and inhale for a massive head rush.

Those mini gas tanks are usually from whipping cream dispensors. They're only full of compressed CO2 so you could not possibly get any kind of "Buzz" beyond what you'd get holding your breath.

Those canisters are for legal highs. They are filled with nitrous oxide and oxygen. They are sniffed. They are all over the beaches where I detect. I always use to think they were for those machines that carbonate water.

That gas canister could either be CO2 which would be best for air rifles. Or it could be N2O which is for whipped cream and, yes, to use as drugs. In the U.S. inhaling Nitrous Oxide is called "Whippets"

Defo Nitrous oxide canisters... Gives you a high, for a very short time (popular, cos not illegal to buy). CO2 I believe are a bit bigger (I have these one for airguns)

Fantastic finds Dan & Mazzy. The chain is actually from an oarsman’s tunic circa 18th Centuary, worn by men of the Royal Barge Gloriana. A very rare find that!...Cleaned up and restored it would certainly have museum interest. Congrats 👍

Little gas bottles are for air powered guns and toys. that is all they are used for here in the States. Nitrous comes in large tanks here with a control valve on top.

Airguns use carbon dioxide, the people that inhale gas use nitrous oxide. Getting those two confused would be fatal.. they do use similar gas cylinders though.
