This is such a great video. Thank you for sharing it. My zippers busted from a 95mph windstorm in March, on my 12x20 gazebo. I think this idea will work out perfectly, so I don't have to replace the curtains entirely, plus give me a little extra screen amount to help enclose the area by the TV that has a small gap. I might go with a double door to get my wheelchair in and out easier. Also, I love your setup, and the deck made from pallets and your wife's flower arrangements are gorgeous. Well done, and enjoy your R&R!!.

I did it today! Thank you for posting. I did not think to attach it the way you did. And I love your wife’s idea to use the burlap to cover over the gaps. My screen door came with adhesive Velcro. So that was very convenient. I love it! P.S., my husband is an RC man. He flies helicopters and one plane. He’s got some jet buddies here in Florida. Had wondered why you were called JetmanT33 lol.

Jetman, your gazebo area/yard looks wonderful. I'm so glad I stumbled across your video. My husband and I just installed a metal 10 x 10 gazebo on our deck and were so excited to use it but found zipping and unzipping was becoming too much :) Our first attempt to DIY the existing screen zipper was a trip to Hobby Lobby to buy stick on velcro. That was a BIG no - did not work (not sure what I was thinking). I realized that all the DIYers had to have an alternate/creative option. Your magnet door solution appears to be a living testament to it working after installation. All your suggestions (glue, screws, etc.) were very helpful to a first time gazeboer lol. The best part is I already have a screen (like yours) for another project but will use this instead - with plans to buy good glue as recommended. Thanks again.

Thanks SO much for this video! I saw your review of this gazebo on Amazon and was hoping to find how you did this! Excellent video! (new subbie)

This looks like the same thing I did on my gazebo a couple of years ago. I stitched it to the existing screen... didn’t think of glue.... good idea! This year I bought a double patio door magnetic screen which gives a cleaner look. I don’t know why they don’t make the screens with magnetic closures. The zippers get stuck after a while and are really annoying.

I found that for the screen door to open easily, the sides have to be attached to a surface which provides a good amount of tension, like a wood frame. This is not so easy when attaching it to a mesh panel. Any ideas for making a more rigid connection?

No.build a frame sounds good to me.

Hello, I just put up my Gazebo and you are correct...the zipping/unzipping can be annoying and the unzipping sound is just as annoying. I was wondering...Is there not any magnetic mosquito screens for Gazebos with grommet holes to hang like a shower curtain? If not, why hasn't this been invented yet???!!! I am perplexed. Also, what type and size (in inches) of screws you used to attach the burlap to the very top of Gazebo (Galvanized, Stainless Steel, etc.) since it will be for outdoor use? Thanks in advance!

what size did you use?

jetman, I love your instructional video on adding this screen door to this gazebo. I have tried to copy using the same brand screen, but mine came with velcro stitched to the perimeter of the screen. I tried to use this velcro, but the adhesive on it would not hold to the fabric of the gazebo netting. I realize now that I will have to use an adhesive (spray-on?) to make it hold, but the stitched on velcro seems like it would be difficult to remove. Any ideas? Did yours come with the velcro, or was it an upgrade since you did yours? I'm stumped!

Mine did not come with velcro on it. I used 3m spray adhesive. If all fails use super glue. If the fails , get needle and stitch it. If all fails use thick contact cement

@@t33jetman I used Gorilla spray adhesive and it stuck the velcro seam to the curtain seam like a charm!
