Would had been nice to have an actual demo of the noise differences

Thank you for your comment; yes, that would be an excellent test we can do in the future. However, there are quality friction resistance bikes (like the BODi Bike - kzbin.info/www/bejne/eWm8np-EbMt0hbM) which are very smooth and quiet.

Is air resistance same as friction resistance?
@chris12321222 Жыл бұрын
Yes, because there is friction with the air molecules and within the moving parts (belt,sprockets, ect). That’s why eventually it will stop spinning without your force.

Air resistance is progressive, the harder you pedal the more resistance that comes in. Friction can be adjusted for any speed :)

Ive found that i cant get that much resistance out of my magnetic exersice bike. Although it feels like im pushing 200 watts my heart rate is only at 130bpm. I turned the resistance to the max which was about 300 watts (estimated) but the break pad which is made out of a compressed cotton material was slightly touching which isnt ideal. When i got off it was really hot and discoloured 😂😂. I will have to focus on my endurance rides for indoor cycling rather than power which is fine because i do have a bike

what does cycling do though? anything? seems like a waste of energy. isn't weight lifting more effective?
@tomd47488 күн бұрын
It’s not, firstly because not everybody has access to weights, or a wight room in their house. Second, you can just jump on a bike for 45 minutes and burn 200 calories, or whatever. Not so with weights, which require actual knowledge of routine setups (weight, reps, sets, rest between sets, exercise order/selection, etc.), and you’ll not burn the same calories by any means, unless you’re doing a strength based routine using high weight/low reps for numerous sets…which most simply never do. Now, if you’re a weight lifter for years and know your shit, you might not need cardio at all, but that’s not the case for most people, who have no idea how to track macros, so would benefit greatly from an exercise bike.
