thanks you for not having crappy music as part of your video :)

Exactly what I need to do...Thank you

I did this after watching your video...I didn't cut it as well as you did probably, it got sort of mess lol. I wish I saw how you did it. BUT, it works though! Thanks!

Perfect! Don't know why they don't sell them.

Very cool!! Can you still use the modified version without the suppressor, if so, did you have to stack the two rubber spacers?
@rsvarminters90834 жыл бұрын
It's too short after cutting to use on a standard barrel. That is why we bought a second one and modified it instead.

Did you not watch the video?

Did you try adjusting the sensitivity first before the chop?
@bennett338able Жыл бұрын
Doesn't matter, the sporter is not sensitive enough (with only 3 sensitivity settings), I even tried the rare earth magnet addition some suggest online, while better, still couldn't get consistent readings, chopping down the bayonet is the only way to get the Sporter to work with suppressor, but rather than buying a spare for unsuppressed barrels just order the extra shims from Magnetospeed and the modified bayonet will work for both.
@bennett338able Жыл бұрын
appreciate the video, but wouldn't it have been more cost effective to trim the bayonet down and buy extra spacers from magnetospeed, rather than another bayonet? Would have saved you $180 and worked with suppressed and unsuppressed just by adding or removing the shims.

Thanks for the comment Aaron. The bayonet was only $80. The rubber spacers are not made to stack. I mostly shoot 1"+ barrels or with a suppressors. The V3 is made for all but I saved some cash this way.

@R&S Varminter's where are you getting extra bayonets for 80? cheapest I could find was around 200 bucks. I understand the rubber doesn't stack, but magnetospeed sells stackable peices designed for the V-3 so standard barrels without suppressors can be used with the V3, and still get the desired distance from bayonet to projectile/bore center.

@@bennett338able This is an old video. Things were less expensive back then.

that's creative. if you want to improve on the hold you can ditch the nylon strap and use a voile ski strap. that way you don't need to worry about it sliding back on you after a few shots.
@rsvarminters90834 жыл бұрын
That is a good idea, thanks : )

Great idea. Does it actually work with suppressor? Thanks.
@rsvarminters90835 жыл бұрын
Yes it works great. It's pretty much my go-to method for checking speeds.
@aaronpage18223 жыл бұрын
If your only using it for load development, why wouldn’t you just take the suppressor off?
@rsvarminters90833 жыл бұрын
I tune my loads with the suppressor on.
@bennett338able Жыл бұрын
The suppressor affects ballistics, with can you can get an additional 100fps, obviously when running subs this is not desirable.
@Fister_of_Muppets Жыл бұрын
@bennett338able that's not necessarily true. There have been several tests done that show that more times than not, a can won't add any real-world velocity to your rounds. Are there exceptions? Sure, but most people will see almost no measurable difference in MV.

The sporter is half the price of a V3. Just buy a V3.
