Would you mind giving details of the map avionics and how you have mounted the iPad - mine vibrates in a similar position using a ram mounted
@djski97573 ай бұрын
I used one of the screws that mounts the carbon panel to the metal frame then drilled through another in the frame. The other two screws (a four bolt ram mount) i used fender washers to help stiffen the carbon panel. I also keep the mount tight to the panel, this keeps it pretty steady. Hope that helps. Happy flying!!

@@djski9757 thank you for replying so quickly, would it be possible to expand your method - a list of the components would help and which parts of the ram mount are fixed directly to the panel

Thanks for your answer and details. Wow! you have the 915... no wonder you get this big kick to the right when the wheels leave the ground. The 143hp torque must be phenomenal and certainly takes you by surprise. I'm by this time you are completely used to it. My instructor has access to an M24 915 now... I saw her first take off with it two weeks ago. Even she got surprised the same way you did and she's got like 1500hours on M24/16/22. My M24 has the 914 (115hp). Maybe in a few years I'll get one too. I tried filming this weekend with a friend's gopro8. It took me some time to find the ideal position for the camera to get the best angle. I must say the gopro8 stabilization is incredible. I'm going to get myself one. Concerning the sound, I found a gopro8 mic adapter for like $60 :-( that allows the use of an external microphone. I read somewhere on the net that some use a tie microphone and stick it between there ear and the earcup of the headset. But I doubt that's what you did. Can you tell me more about this cable whose sound is really good? Thanks. Stephen from Aix-en-Provence, France.

great I was taught not to spin up until centered on runway spin up 215 stick back power on that way you have ground speed prior to rotors spinning fast enough for lift

@@djski9757 Thanks for including clip 2 -- now have a much better perspective on t/o and landings w/o the 2nd seat weight, since I'm imminent for my solo as well. However, my CFI intends to add ballast in the passenger seat and remove gradually, which may lessen the impact of the immediate loss of weight. Again, very beneficial video and much appreciated.

Hello Dj, I spike with you in the spring shortly after you came home with your new gyro. i am less than 2 hours away, would like to meet some time. I am hoping to start lessons in February. I certainly have the fever and looking forward to training. I am glad you posted the first solo even with the surprises, It gives any newbies a taste of what to expect. How are you loving it so far?

Congrats! Also got my licence 6 months ago and I have an M24 of course! Is this the 914 engine or the 915 model? Great picture quality, and very nice angle. What camera did you use? Did you use any anti-vibration support other than an internal one? How did you capture the sound of the radio/intercom on the camera ... I wish I could film some shots as you did! Thanks for any help you can share with a beginner. Best regards from France.

Thanks for your comments, I have the 915, I felt it would be better with fuel injection living in the northern US. I use the gopro 8, it has good image stabilization. I found a cable that taps the audio to the camera, it is pricey but nice. No extra support for the camera. Still consider myself a new pilot, but is sure is fun! Happy flying, hope to see some video from your way sometime!

Yes you are right.! He had to Go back in school and learn something about Rotor Management. Not ready for Solo flights. And especially without Camera before you are Safe !

I was taught to NEVER maneuver on the ground with a spinning rotor unless rolling for take-off. According to my instructor the risk of roll-over of the gyro with a spinning rotor is significant, I took him on his word and never tried it myself.
@djski97572 жыл бұрын
@@cvzyl Do you manage your rotor when you land?
@cvzyl2 жыл бұрын
@@djski9757 On landing, bring gyro to a stop, then stick forward and allow blades to spin down, apply rotor brake, then taxi. Well that is what I was taught. When operating on rough fields it is recommended to spin the rotor to allow the centrifugal forces to help dampen the rotor flapping while maneuvering but that is at a low speed, like 20-50 rpm.
@djski97572 жыл бұрын
@@cvzyl not sure where you are, but I never stop on a runway. To much traffic, that would be impolite. I just manage the rotor, just need to be aware of wind direction.

Many mistakes I misconducted! Pre rotation must be initiated only on the rwy never before adding you should never center the stick with side wing on tact way wrong on all start flying even worse he may be in trouble quick.. Rotor Alive not concentration in flying talk too much. Make another training
