Cheers Matt. It’s a real throwback to the halcyon 70s era and was Jon’s last album can you believe. All the best. Dave

@@jeffschielka7845 I’d forgotten that this was Jon’s last album. So sad but a quarter of a century later and still no truce. There are 4 members still alive and why they can’t settle their differences is above me. What a reunion that Jon, Steve, Bill and Rick would offer. We can dream.

I LOVE the album, Dave. I think it is as good as some of their earlier classic albums. I also love the KeyStudio album. Sadly the last album with Jon Anderson, but at least it's a great one!

@@canadianstudmuffin I’m with you on that one. My personal favorite is In the Presence Of and it’s as good as anything they did I think. Cheers Buddy. Speak soon

Magnification is a Gem! I saw Yes in the Magnification Tour that was named YES The Symphonic Tour and was Yes only tour with a symphonic orchestra and it was just a breathtaking experience,

Hey Dave! I've had the album since it came out, but I may have to revisit it. Cheers!

@@AisForAliceBisForBob Hi. They had so much stick following on from their golden 70s records, but this is decent and demonstrates an understanding of the change in music whilst still incorporating the prog roots. It’s clever and shut up a few knockers of their work.

@@CloseToTheEdge-Prog Thanks Pat. It was a bit of a career resurgence album for the band and I just love “In the presence of” and it usually moves me to tears. I’m not afraid to admit that. Take care

Good review. Magnification is up there with my favourite Yes albums. I really like the title track and you make some interesting points, particularly about ‘Dreamtime’ which I like, but I do think it loses his way a bit. ‘In the Presence of’ is a great song, but my two favourite songs are ‘Give Love each Day’ and ‘We Agree’ with some soaring work from both Steve Howe and the orchestra. All in all this is Yes’ most overlooked album. My wife Tracy and I saw them on the tour with a full orchestra and they really rocked! The best concert I have ever seen!

@KeithPlant Hello Keith. Thanks for your comments-some good info and experiences in there. It is such a great album and sadly Jon’s last. Great to hear from you and thanks for watching my video especially as there is so much choice out nowadays. Hope we can chat a bit again. All the best. Dave✅✅

Also remember the release date of this album. September 10th, 2001! The world was rather focused on the tragedy in the USA😮

Hi Dave. Maybe the lack of a keyboard player was a let down for some, others hated the cover art, Wakeman not available or not interested at all (as always LOL), Sherwood gone, Khoroshev kicked out of the band for misconduct (maybe too much vodka with Chris, and his ego went nuts). He was really a good keyboard player. Last time they came down here (2013), the promoter told me lots of funny stories about the great Squire before the show (and that's all I'll say about it out of respect). On "Symphonic Live", the main tracks really shine. Nice that they hired a young Tom Brislin for the tour. Loved the album, but I always skipped that orchestral interlude or intermezzo on... forgot the name of the song, happens to me too (LOL). Off to listen to it. Best regards.

@@Ignatius91 Good info as ever my friend. I quite liked Khoroshevs playing style. Goodness knows what he got kicked out for. Must have been something really bad. All the best. Dave✅✅
